Check out this recent discussion here at TMP: TMP link Now I know that there are wrestling figures available, like action figures and smaller sizes, too. But I was wondering if 1), there are any rules available for a tabletop wrestling wargame, and 2), what about 25/28mm figures of "old time" wrestlers, like the ones that didn't have all the theatrics and stuff like today? Just wondering. |

You could try and adapt some gladiator rules. Leave out the armor and change the weapons from swords and tridents to steel chairs and barbded wire two by fours. Add in some special holds and finishing moves. Just a thought off the top of my head. |

Hasslefree has a figure that has been used for both a medieval torturer and a Mexican wrestler. link You might also want to look at some generic superhero figures too. link |

link This is not exactly a mini's game
heck I never did get around to ordering a copy, so I can't even tell you exactly how it works. But a Dock Forman I used to work for back in Philly raved about it. He invited me over for a game one evening, but we went out to a Ring Of Honor event instead. I still plan to pick up their Champions of the Galaxy sci-fi wrestling game one of these days. |

The rules should be easy if both sides agree on the outcome before the bell rings

Gosh, I remember a wrestling game back in the late 70's. It was RPG style, but I can't recall the name of the rules. |

Avalon Hill (I think) had a game called Wrasslin' (or something to that effect). That one I did buy off ebay, but I don't remember ever getting around to reading it. I do remember it having cartoonish characters based on 80s wrestling stars. |

For figures, you might try tracking down on Ebay some of the "M.U.S.C.L.E." toys: link Some of them are bizarre, but the less-outlandish ones would work well. They are a bit bigger than 28mm figures, but not much. They are on ebay regularly. |

We have some beer & pretzel rules for that in the downloads section of our website that may do the trick – "kings of the ring": link It's a very simple multiplayer game; it's free, so worth having a look :) We also have some luchador figures: link link Other figs in the range may do the trick but those two we obviously made for Santo & Blue Demon gaming A lot of heroclix figures can easily be converted into wrestlers. Eg: link Cheers,

I had a stratomatic type wrestling game when I was much younger. It was a great beer game, we had a blast. Everyone would scream and raise hell and their girlfriends would leave them the next day, lol. I think you could put together some miniatures. Maybe not enough for a whole stable of talent but maybe enough to fill a card. You could use superfigs heroes, some leave alot of detail off for you to add your own, nude females could be painted with clothing. Theres really a lot of options around if you look. There are a few zombies that would work with some modelling. |

Fellas, there are some great-looking figures here that can be used for a miniature wrestling match. Great suggestions, too, for modifying existing figures. By the way, here's a link to a website that honors the memory of World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW), which is a defunct circuit that was big in my area back in the day: link Check out the "RESULTS" link, which will take y'all to a table of the years (on the left) when it was active, and some of those years will link to a publication of theirs, 'The Rassler', which showcased the big names of the day. The pictures are pretty cool and brings back lots of memories! |

I think a game would be awful cool even if you DID sort of plan stuff ahead of time
or at least took into account the heel/face dynamic, and the heat involved
it could be VERY cool. You know
heels have special abilities like "Trash talk the home town" or "Bail out of the ring," or faces have the "Miracle comeback from a beatdown
" And if players were ENCOURAGED to play it right, not just to win, but to build up crowd heat and the like by stringing together moves and specials that hype the crowd up rather than just going for pins
I think it could be cool:) |
