I think the thinner legs work better, and the way that the back half is now a lot heavier than the chest. I still have some misgivings about the size of the head, and weight of the howdah (also the length of the latter, it looks a couple of mm too long to me), but I gather it is supposed to be an exceptionally large bull so in that context
If you should do a smaller 2 man howdah to go with the smaller elephants you've mentioned, I'd suggest that you design it so that it would also fit this one and provide an alternative for those favouring 2 man howdahs. Cheers, Simon Cheers, Simon |

I really like it -there are so many massive jumbos (mainly Indian ones of course) out there, this is a refreshing change. Yes, that's a serious head but I like that too. The would say the legs are spot on. |

How tall to the shoulder does he stand? (The elephant, not Mike!) |

African Forest Bull "Tusker". Let me make mention again that if there was a chance of a 3 man box on a forest elephant, it would have to be on a large male. link When I am ready to do a two passenger I will reduce the size of the elephant somewhere between 10%-20% and make the head smaller too. This animal stands approx 47mm at the back where the box sits behind the mahout. This beast is raising its head to look taller and threatening. |

It's very encouraging to see that you are paying attention to critical feedback, and not letting ego get in the way of improvement. (Unlike some "artists" I could mention

I received my elephant and Roman officers in the mail. Nice models, very clean cast, good metal. I deserve some time to mess with these. The Roman commanders are very detailed
. photos on the website only do slight justice to the details. The howdah has a spike and mallet holder
kewl
The crew are nice
nice in-scale goad for the mahout. I'm thinking of switching the crew for Ptolemaics (as if I need another Ptolemaic beastie :)
one could also use this elephant for Juba's elephants by inserting Wargames factory crew, but this crew is non-descript enough to be Libyans or Numidians. JJ |
