So, what do you use for easy, fun, attractive terrain for 1:1200 scale games? For me it's Areonef type games, although I may not wait much longer for Brigade Models' Aquanef! Land ironclad games attract me much less. Gracias, Glenn |

Langton has some buildings in that scale. |

I thought 2mm was 1/900, though? Irregular may have something in 2mm. The Langton stuff looks very cool, although I think it's all ancients stuff. Probably fine for Aeronefs over the Med, but not for much else. I've always wanted an excuse to use some of the more impressive pieces like the amphitheater, coliseum, and temple. Nice stuff, but not in a scale I use. Doug |

From the outdated Resource pages of TMP, just to reflect the confusion in/of our hobby: 1/1200 Also used for naval miniatures, especially for pre-20th century ships. (In the modern periods, most gamers now use 1/2400 scale due to price and playing area size.) 1.34mm Edit: Glenn – this is what I was talking about in reference to Brigade Models' Aeronef miniatures. Sorry for any confusion. 1/900 Some Fighting Sail era ships available in this scale. 1.8mm
2mm At this scale, each miniature often represents an entire unit (a group of men, squadron of cavalry, battery of artillery). Recommended for those who want to depict large, epic battles in a limited table space, or who have less time for painting. Historical and science fiction. 1/805

elsyrsyn, Langton does have a nice ancient building range, but they also have an extensive range of 18/19th century stuff. link |

Hi Glenn, some excellent recently scratch-built scenery can be found here: link and: link Also at: link and: link There's also a short comparison review on various small scale buildings I did a while back at my own Blog: link and also: link Langton, I think, offer the best real scale buildings alongside Aeronef/ 1/1200th, but obviously, depending on your needs, the 2mm Irregular give good 'view from the sky' proportions. Best Regards, SteelonSand. |

elsyrsyn, Langton does have a nice ancient building range, but they also have an extensive range of 18/19th century stuff. Oooh – those are quite nice, and I'd managed (being generally focused on the galleys) to miss them completely. Doug |

PaperTerrain has 3mm buildings, but that's as small as I'm going to go! paperterrain.com |

The PaperTerrain stuff looks very nice, too. Scott – any thoughts of making your products available in electronic format so that they can be scaled? Even for things that are nominally the correct scale it can be VERY useful (say for making sure stands fit inside, or that the footprint is inside a single hex). Doug |

Doug, I have no plans to sell my stuff in electronic format anytime in the immediate future. There are a number of companies that already do that and I have no wish to compete with them. Scott |
