eBay bidding is a perfect example of personal-value exchange
people are willing to pay for items, whether through ignorance ( Not in the offenseive term, just not knowing) or through desire to own. I'm always stunned at how American sellers and buyers inflate the price of second-hand GZG stuff, mostly through the idea that 'This stuff cannot be bought in America, so is unobtainable otherwise' as one seller puts on his sales regularly. |

To be fair, GZG products are fairly rare in the US despite the ease and relatively low cost of ordering direct. There are an awful lot of folks who shy away from ordering from overseas manufacturers. |

Battle Works, that is a valid point and one we in a country where until recently had NO amnufacturers of mins at all often forget, but the idea that GZG is totally OOP just because there's no US distributor is what some of these traders are promoting which somehow ( Correct me if I'm wrong, TMP Legal departement :) ) reminds me of false or misleading advertising. |

Perhaps, but I suspect you're ascribing malice to sellers who are merely ignorant. And if they're selling Geohex packs, they are technically correct – all those packs are OOP, as Geohex no longer exists. There are also a fair number of discontinued models from GZG at this point – all his old resin, some 25mm stuff, many of the older sculpts for FT. Even the UNSC and IJN fleets are down for mold replacement right now, and not due back before summer at the earliest. |

Could be that I am in a lot of cases, BWS . . . I do however point out that two regular eBay sellers of GZG second hand Full Thrust items not only say this, but also avoid overseas sales and will not respond to queries from overseas. And one of then never mentions GeoHex and the packs are clearly British blisters, not GeoHex in any way. I ahve no problem with anyone who wants to sell tham as rare, but I do have a problem with the very few pumping th evalue by misleading people as to the rarity. Actually, i have the biggest problem with the sellers who decline to let me bid:) |
