For those of us facing off the British and Prussians, what rifles are they carrying?

Single shot Mauser 1971 or the Gewehr 1888? Obviously it's my choice as to when I set my games, but I was wondering what others are doing.

By the time they have 1871 Mausers, they are Germans (some may be from Prussia, of course)

The one time we did it, we used the Gewehr 1888 (it would have fit the time frame best)

whatever They carried in 1880, the shooty kind?

Although my figures carry Dreyse needle-guns, they shoot like the Gewehr 1888.

dont forget the 1871/84 … tube fed 1871.

French ones after they have captured them?

Depends on the time period, if it is in 1870 they use needleguns, if it is in 1890 they use Mausers.

Same for the Brits firing back, Lee Metfords in 1898. All gets a bit nasty from then on.

I can't recall exactly when The Battle of Dorking was, but IIRC the Brits were in Home Service dress.
