Hey guys! I'll get a news item out to TMP in the next day or two, but the 15mm quar are and for sale. I'll start shipping them next week.

Very nice! It seems like a long wait for these soldiers, but it looks like it has been worth it!

Coyotepunc and Hatshepsuut18 Mar 2010 11:01 a.m. PST

I will place my order tomorrow :)

Darby E18 Mar 2010 11:59 a.m. PST

Very very cool!

Glad to see them, though I think they lost a little something in the translation to 15mm. Still I am definitely getting some.

One disappointment is that you caved to the assault rifle mafia and have them holding their guns in modern stance while much of the fun of the Quar is that they are based on WWI soldiers. I greatly prefer the way the 28s hold their WWI style rifles.

porfirio: I don't disagree with you. I sculpted these and had a lot of trouble getting certain poses to cast. 15s are very new for me! I had to make some allowances. Also the Crusaders have always had the more modern weapons. The militia and royalists will address some of the pose issues.
Although I think when you get them you will see they have kept a bit of their whimsy.

I definitely agree! I still think they are way fun and will probably use quite a lot as the militia defenders on a planet or something. Not all creatures can be huge and scary.

Sorry didn't know that about the crusaders, my bad.

Headzombie,

Are the 15mm Aphids still undergoing a re-sculpting?

Thanks.

CC: Off and On. The sculptor and I need to talk!

Cacique Caribe18 Mar 2010 1:31 p.m. PST

No problem. Those things happen. Just let us know when it's back on track.

Thanks!

CC your making a link circle! I was reading one article then had a flash of deja vue. I read this one! I had 6 windows open leading me right back to here. Running around in cyber circles.

15mm Quar are great and the Aphids,a long time favorite of mine, will be welcome. If you update them will you replace the old ones?

headzombie18 Mar 2010 1:54 p.m. PST

The old aphids will never go away. They were the first figures I bought in the 80s and they should always be in production!

Cacique Caribe18 Mar 2010 2:24 p.m. PST

tabletopwarrior,

LOL. Yes. My goal is to confuse the heck out of people! :)

I happened to see your website before this post. Placed my order then and anxiously await their arrival.

Great stuff, I look forward to more of them.

"They were the first figures I bought in the 80s and they should always be in production!"

Amen.

Got some Aphids for my daughter for Christmas, she loves them.

And curiously, after I sent this thread to my wife yesterday, she sent me an email telling me not to open any paypal notifications I might get. What's going on? Surely it can't have anything to do do with my birthday in two weeks….

Coyotepunc and Hatshepsuut19 Mar 2010 9:05 a.m. PST

Ordered! The Aphids will have to wait until another day. They were my *first* choice for smaller aliens, but the Quar are so much more what I am looking for.

I plan to use them as one of the four alien races composing the Taquari' Comnate, itself a client state of the Two Thousand Worlds, in my imaginary Traveller campaign.

Jamesonsafari19 Mar 2010 12:23 p.m. PST

The Quar are total coolness. The tank sculpt I hope points to some support weapons to make a proper battlegroup for them? Mortars (a really retro weapon like a WW! Trench mortar would be really sweet), something heavy and tripod mounted that could be a missile launcher/ATG/HMG etc?

headzombie19 Mar 2010 1:16 p.m. PST

My goal is to add all that cool hardware to the lineup. I want to get the basic infantry and a couple vehicles done for each side and then I'll go after some of that. Artillery, aircraft, etc.

Jamesonsafari20 Mar 2010 8:53 a.m. PST

Be still my beating heart.

ajbartman20 Mar 2010 8:22 p.m. PST

And there was much rejoicing.

Number620 Mar 2010 11:04 p.m. PST

For rules, I think both PBI and Force on Force with some added chrome would be great for these.

Alright, now I can begin my Quar Wars!
