Probably not scale specific but I am about to paint my first ACW naval forces. Any good online guides out there?

There is a Yahoo group, called I believe, IRONCLADS – that may be a good first stop.

Tony B., from Thoroughbred miniatures, brought it to my attention at Historicon 2009. ( I was asking about detailing kits or products.)

If you are getting Thoroughbreds don't forget that there are painting instructions included with the models.

I didnt mean guides as to what colors for the ships. But what are the steps to make a great looking model. Im new to painting all together!

Do you mean things like base coating, ink washing, dry brushing and so on?
