A question for those that game in the 1/600 scale. What size soldiers would you use to represent land soldiers firing at ships or to represent boarding forces?

3mm.

When I began with my Thoroughbreds 10+ years ago, I wanted crew figures, but at that time couldn't find any. But there are 3mm manufacturers now, at least of 20th century tanks and airplanes and at least one of them sometimes has news items here on TMP. Can't recall who they are, however.

If you don't get any luck here on the ironclad board, maybe you could repost the question later. There are definitely a couple, if not more, fans of this scale for land games on TMP.

Pico Armor seems to be putting out a lot of 3mm but I am not sure if they have something that would suit your needs. I suppose part of it depends on how good your eyesight is!

Don't Peter Pig do figures for their 1/600 ACW range?

You could also have a look at Irregular's 2mm range too since it won't be that far out of scale (big 2mm!).

I uae the Peter Pig figures. They are excellent with surprising detail considering the tiny size.

I've used the Irregular 2mm stuff in the past.

Another vote for the Peter Pig figures, of which I have quite a few :) They also do some very nice buildings and wharf sets.

Ive just ordered some of PP's 3mm minis to see whether I can use them for some joint land & water gaming and whether any of them can be hacked off the stands to crew a few gunboats and so on.
