Hello All

well after immeasurable delays i can finally show the first greens for our anticipated range of 28mm SYW Hannoverians.

The first batch of figures are Line Infantry. Grenadiers are WIP and coming along.

I have posted pictures of the greens here:

link

They are open for comment. I aim to have as inclusive approach as possible with the development of my figures, so constructive comments are welcome. Every effort has been made to make them as accurate as possible and i am confident you will find them among the best miniatures of their type available. Even a general comment whether you like them would be great.

These figures are the first of an extensive and detailed range for SYW we are planning. we currently have planning work for some 100 or more further figures, not including the Hannoverians.

Please take the opportunity to take a look and let me know what you think.

regards
Mathew

Look fine to me although I agree the gaiters look too short.
IMHO the knee is too low making the whole leg with gaiter look far too short.
Fix that and I'll buy although I've seen the prices on your website and they are a bit expensive.

I agree about the gaiters

idontbelieveit16 Mar 2010 6:11 a.m. PST

Nice. I particularly like the musicians.

adster16 Mar 2010 7:08 a.m. PST

They look quite nice, glad they're safely on the other side of the planet…

shelldrake16 Mar 2010 7:47 a.m. PST

adster – they might be safely on the other side of the planet, but with the exchange rates as they are, they are cheaper to buy… evil grin

Looking good. Can't wait to get my Guards.

Gwartizan16 Mar 2010 8:47 a.m. PST

Some of the best looking figures I've seen in ages. Even better proportions than the Perrys ranges!

Tank Top16 Mar 2010 9:07 a.m. PST

Superb!
Another anatomically correct range.
Definitely the way ahead as far as wargaming is concerned.

Cardinal Hawkwood16 Mar 2010 2:40 p.m. PST

shelldrake..I think the very strong AUD means they are expensive for foreigners..a bit like thinks used to be for us..

Cardinal Hawkwood16 Mar 2010 2:42 p.m. PST

the instruments are over size and that guardsman has his musket at a very sloppy angle for a guardsman . but otherwise they look pretty good though I agree that the thigh looks too long..

MathewatWarTimeMiniatures17 Mar 2010 1:35 a.m. PST

Thanks all for the feedback.

It is very much a double edged sword posting greens up for opinion. But as a collector myself i understand peoples desire to offer an opinion and see their potential purchases as close to what they want as possible.

Everything is taken on board and a few adjustments have been asked for.

It is easy to get fixed on specific points, i know this after looking at them as much as i have. even as they stand as a unit they would look great. But not to be underdone we strive for more and am doing everything possible to get it right.

I stand by that if you look at the figures overall, you will find them well proportioned and as historically accurate as possible. :)

Mathew

Dont like the gaiters or instruments….

Tank Top17 Mar 2010 4:24 a.m. PST

I don't really see any problem with the gaiters or instruments, they still look way better Front Rank which are the main competition.

These guys will be off to the mould maker shortly.:)

Superb!!!!

lebooge28 Mar 2010 5:52 a.m. PST

Nice looking figures!

thehawk29 Mar 2010 4:18 a.m. PST

I suspect that is the camera lens at work.
Place your right hand over your mouth so that the little finger is level with the bottom of yout jaw. Memorise where the top of your index finger comes to.
Now try the same measurement with the musketeer picture

I do think the changes improved the stance as they did look a little weird in the pelvic region. A lot of figure ranges seem to struggle with a natural join of legs to torso.

BigGame Hunter24 Apr 2010 11:07 p.m. PST

nice

DragonfireGames25 Apr 2010 7:23 p.m. PST

Well done Mat! I know how long you have been working and waiting on these. They have arrived in a very stylish fashion. Good luck with the next batch of SYW miniatures. Great job!

Do You have a size comparison shot with some of the other 28mm figure makers?

Cardinal Hawkwood18 Dec 2010 5:03 p.m. PST

and from behind..?

MathewatWarTimeMiniatures19 Dec 2010 3:15 a.m. PST

Behind shot of grenadier is up.

Getting final details added so will post more when finalised in next week or so.

spontoon02 Jan 2011 12:33 a.m. PST

Yes, Please. SOme size comparison photos. These look better than all the ranges of Hanoverians I've seen so far!

dualer02 Jan 2011 10:56 a.m. PST

Really nice looking figs, any plans for a UK/European distributor once complete?

MathewatWarTimeMiniatures02 Jan 2011 8:35 p.m. PST

Hey Guys

I just received some final pics of the Grenadier Greens. Looking lovely. Pending final clearence through the vetting agency, i will post them up.

No size comparison shots yet and i will probably leave it to others to show when they get their hands on some. :)

At this stage i intend for the command figures to be available in limited numbers(about 20 of each) at CanCon (end of January). These are pre production figures including the faulty musketeer (musket is wrong) which has and continues to hold the release up.

As to a distributor, well i would be getting way ahead of myself at the moment. :)

I must say these are very nice. I think the Minden figures are good but they are not to my liking. I prefer the more robust 'Heroic' sculpt which your figures have. Well done!

MathewatWarTimeMiniatures01 Jul 2011 3:02 a.m. PST

I am very happy to say (and somewhat releived) that the first 16 figures for the Hanvoerians are now released and available.

P.S: Work is continuing with ongoing plans to provide detailed coverage of the Western Theatre of the SYW. Both an Ally and opponent for the Hanoverians to be worked on in 2011 (and initial sets released).

Grenzer2101 Jul 2011 5:19 a.m. PST

Well it's only taken 16 months so far . . .

That's not a bassoon. This is a bassoon!

;^)

Cardinal Hawkwood03 Jul 2011 3:16 a.m. PST

not only that it is the most rare of creatures..an minifigs bassoon

John Clements30 Jul 2011 7:15 a.m. PST

I've just received my first order of these figures and they really are terrific. They will stand alongside the best of contemporary figures in anatomical proportions, the detail is crisp but not exaggerated, and the range of ancillary figures (such as the bassoon player) make it something different. The casting is good too and I've had little work to do in preparation for painting, mainly just a couple of strokes of the file on the underside of the base.

All credit to Mathew for sticking with this project and producing yet more inspiring figures for my favourite period
