Gentlemen
I am in the process of getting some figures sculpted to represent the Leigon as described by M. de Saxe in his Reveries. I am hoping that some of you may pop over to my blog
strackenz.blogspot.com
and have a look at what I'm getting done. I hope you may be able to help in a few questions that I contemplating.
Thanks in advance
Steve

Have you considered a Marshal de Saxe personality figure riding in his 2-wheel wicker chariot, whilst at the battle of Fontenoy? It was either dropsy or gout that way layed him, I can't recall which one it was at the moment.

You certainly need de Saxe around to command your legion

I think Hawkwoad may be a little suspect and merely being vexatious, or perhaps he is a true mirror and will do absolutely exactly whatever I do..watch this with interest actually I will take two and paint one for my mate Larkspur von Starkadderwood

And one for myself, hmmm wonder how much it would cost to get one sculpted?
Now the good Marshal would need some troops to command. So would any of you gents be interested in some of the poor foot sloggers when they are ready?

abdul666lw12 Mar 2010 12:54 a.m. PST

Troops, yes, of course. But -drifting away from the original topic- with Maurice de Saxe you'll need a few actresses and ballerinas…
Wonder if the excellent Marechal-General toyed for ladies fashion with ideas as original as for military dress?

Would be precious as charming additions to a number of vignettes.

I have posted my final(?) thoughts on the dress of the Infantry

Could you gentlemen with an nterest in the Legion please have a look and leave any relevant comments. Any change needs to be done by Monday when I forward the details to Richard. Then he can tell me what won't work and why!

Off-topic thanks to another TMP thread:

Now, since the Marechal-General shows in the Reveries that he is NOT a slave of current 'mainstream' fashion:

Really? DAF, I'm sure many of those clicking on the links after reading your warning will be cruelly disappointed! 'Official' pics, one from a musical video in its time aired on MTV at any hour of the day…
Note that -once the pointed ears filed down- several Foundry *Elves* almost fit the bill picture as does GW Marianna Chevaux picture for instance

And may I underline that they are not totally 'off-topic': de Saxe's Legionnaires being 'men in tights'…
