(Not sure whether to post this in ancients or medievals, as the Tang are right on the lip, so put it in both, also Classical Asian.)

We've added two more codes of T'ang Chinese, unarmoured/peasant archers, and armoured halberdiers with the ji halberd. You can see them both at the bottom of the listings for the T'ang Chinese page. Available now!

Just great figures. The next thing on my list to buy after I clear out/complete some unfinished projects.

Nice! I'll have to check whether the range covers all options for a DBA army yet. Re. the unarmoured/peasant archers, did they really cuff their trousers?

The Chinese are quite nice. I happen to be reading a book on the Silk Road and all the warfare between the Tang, Tibet, various Turks, and Muslims. This area offers endless campaign potential.

@HB: Which book is that? It sounds very interesting!

Hrothgar Berserk27 Feb 2010 9:43 a.m. PST

The book is 'Life Along the Silk Road' by Susan Whitfield.

It covers the period 730-965. Each chapter has a different person: merchant, soldier, horseman, princess, etc. I glanced casually at the book in B&N one day, started reading while having coffee, and ended up taking it home. I'm more than half way through.

Oh and another great book: "Medieval Chinese Warfare 300-900" by David Graff.

All this talk of Tang China got me watching "Temptation of a Monk" on this snowy day.

Thanks, HB! Is it based on the texts that were found near Dunhuang (IIRC)?

Hrothgar Berserk27 Feb 2010 12:59 p.m. PST

yes, the author is working on the International Dunhuang Project at the British Library.
