Can anyone help me identify this Japanese vehicle? picture I have no interest in WW2 and am a bit stuck as to: 1) The scale (I think 15mm based on the others on site) 2) The manufacturer 3) The name of the vehicle I'm looking to use it as a SciFi cargo hauler if suitable. Thanks in advance Andrew blog.kings-sleep.me.uk 2mmwars.blogspot.com |

Those look like Flame of War bases, so the 15mm scale guess is probably a good one. |

I have a picture of one from the Philippines. I got it from my wife;s uncle before he died. he was a SeaBee there. A collection of about 100 photos. I am not sure whether he took them or if they were mass produced for men in the units there. An aside: Most photos in my collection came from my unckle in Britian who was an MP at a fighter base before he transferred to the infnatry due to the Bulge offesive. |

"QRF probably made more then the Japs did
" But the Japs' probably didn't have prominent mould lines (which Warpainter did a very good job concealing, but they're still prominent). Allen |

They probably did :-) I suspect we have sold so many the mould needs replacing. I'll point it out to Chas and make sure he has it on the list of moulds to do. |

It's not the age of the moulds, Geoff. WP did those Japanese APCs when they were first released. And you may recall my praising the HSV01 Praga truck when it was first released. Nice and crisp, except for the unfortunate mould line running diagonally across the body panels: picture Makes it incredibly hard to clean up. The problem is choosing where to place the mould line: conceal it along linear feature, or put it right out on an exposed surface for God and everyone. Yes, I'm frustrated at having to spend a lot of time lately trying to clean similar things from two manufacturers, one of whom is QRF. Allen |

Unfortunately some of that is an occupational hazard/technical limitation of 2 part moulds. While it would be lovely to say you want the mould to split along the bottom of that edge, then up the next one, etc, it is more often than not a restriction due to the shape or depth of the master. We do try and build the moulds to reduce technical issues like this as much as possible. That said, I understand that we have changed metals since then, which means we can run it with less pressure resulting in a lower chance of distortion and consequently fewer instances of the type of line you are talking about. I wouldn't know myself, I'm still trying to make modern Frenchman. |
