That's my question.

Thanks.

Right after Tactica 2 is released… which will be right after Armati Renaissance is released… which will be right after crossfire 2 is released…. which will be right after GW releases the new Dark Eldar…. which will follow closely WOW releasing actual new WW2 planes.

Do I sound jaded?

I have playtested a number of the many variations of Regimental F&F and frankly have lost track of the latest version. I have heard that Rich is using a Chinese company to print the books and they are expected to be out yet this year.

As a long-time Johnny Reb 3 player, I welcome any new rules that help jump start the ACW community as quite frankly I want to expand the circulation (and scenario contributors) of our CHARGE newsletter, and original regimental scenarios for F&F are included in that newsletter on occasion.

I guess it will be ready just in time for Historicon, just like it was last year, and the year before, and the year..Zzzzzzzzzz ;-)

it should be out this year. I'm not familiar with the publishing lead time for the Chinese publishing companies.
I've seen the final edit of the first 64 pages, which are the rules proper. The last section are 6 battle scenarios.

It will be longer than you can hold your breath, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

If they release them this year, I'll be happy. It will give me some incentive to dig out my ACW figures again.

I always hear the rules are at the printer. I wish they would have a pre-release PDF download.

I played a Wilson's Creek regimental game many years ago at The Hobby Shop in St. Louis, MO. Lance, the Presenter, used adjusted Fire & Fury and they worked great! It was one of the most fun wargames I ever played. It got me thinking I maybe could enjoy ACW more than Napoleonics I was playing with Napoleon's Battles.

I don't know what the adjustments were or if Lance used variant found in a magazine at the time like the Napoleonic variant he and I played at a later date. (Which was also a lot of fun!)

I'm the editor, and I suppose we deserve the abuse we've received for building up expectations time and again only to fall behind. Part of the problem is that Rich likes to show it off at conventions, and then make changes that need to be playtested before we are sure they belong in the rules. Basically, it looks like a close-to-finished-product at a convention, but it isn't.

Anyway, we are in the last stages of editing, and Rich has a few more photos to take. We plan to send it off to the printers early in April. It takes six to eight weeks to get them printed. I should be available just before Historicon.

The final product is full of illustrations to help explain game mechanics, much like the original Fire and Fury. The six scenarios are designed to give players several different sized games to start with. Physically, it will be full color and hard back. I'm not sure what the retail price will be, but from what Rich has talked about it sounds quite reasonable and lower than similar products.

My wife asked me this evening how many different rules sets I needed. I was very good- I didn't say "All of them"

Hussar – just ask her how many different pairs of shoes she needs!

But I too am awaiting Regt F&F, just not holding my breath.

F and F was very easy to modify to regimental scale (not for sale) for us here. I am sure they have done a few of the same adjustments we did plus a lot of other stuff we didn't think of! The mechanics of the F&F system are very good at both levels, so a nice presentation will sell well enough for them if they can ever get it finished!! Maybe they should have just combined the Brigade level and Regimental level scales in one book!
