I downloaded this PDF some time ago and have lost the link to site where I got it. Sadly, I failed my Google-Fu check and have been unable to located it again. Can anyone help?

Also, is there an updated version? Mine is from Aug 2005 and mentions a Part 2 with rules for heavy weapons. Was this ever completed?

Thanks

..and no I never did update it properly. However, I did add army lists and some banner rules ideas. Let me know if you like it and I will look at it again.

Mick-

Great! Thanks for the link. I've just sent in my request to join the group, and once approved I'll check out the army lists.

Have you, or anyone else in the group, created the same sort of thing for War of the Ring? I'd love to play some historical games with that system.

Dear 3720to1

I have been thinking about it but have not got round to it. I have played a couple of games of WOTR but not enough to write rules adjustments and army lists. I think that it will work very well.

Some armies will be easy.
Vikings and Saxons – use Rohan infantry stats
Medievals – The Gondor and Minas Tirrith Lists have stats that could easily be reworked to cover most medieval forces.

By the way, if anybody has already made historical lists for War of the Ring, I would like to see them.

(There are some rules and army lists for Romans and Celts on the LOTR Yahoo group).

Viking and Saxons is what I plan to start with and have already been thinking of using the Rohan stats as a base. I also have WH Shieldwall and Age of Arthur to reference.

Hi everyone,

I appreciate I may be reviving a dead thread, but does anyone know what happened to this ruleset?

I have been looking for a historical skirmish game based on the LOTR/Hobbit rules.

I've found the 2005 document, just wondered if this was ever updated with the new Hobbit rules or expanded?

Thanks
