If you have already ordered them, or are thinking of ordering them, HOW do you intend to use them?

What army will they represent?

What enemies will you pit against them?

Dan
BTW, JRacel has done an amazing job painting a batch of them:

I don't know. But I WILL get some. They will be hard core shock troopers.

Merry Christmas Dan.

kreoseus222 Dec 2009 4:08 a.m. PST

I would be tempted to paint them white and send them into Hoth.

Dropship Horizon22 Dec 2009 5:04 a.m. PST

HOW do you intend to use them?

As wargame figures. ;-)

Cheers
Mark

JRacel22 Dec 2009 5:34 a.m. PST

I would be tempted to paint them white and send them into Hoth.

I really thought about doing this as well until I remembered I have no snow and ice terrain. :)

Jeff

Wellspring22 Dec 2009 6:50 a.m. PST

Until they release characters, heavy weapons and gun teams, I'd use them as mercenaries or guards.

Smokey Roan22 Dec 2009 7:01 a.m. PST

LOL! Dan, right now, the Rebel Minis space marines you sent me are stand ins for Dervish to compare for scale, as I build 15mm terrain and adobe buildings. :)

They actually look cool, in their Lime Green and flourescent orange uniforms paint job (I call them my "Canes of Whoopass" unit), makes my Sudan terrain look like a desert planet setting. :)

BTW, Dan, I built a copy of the "Einstein Tower" in 15mm (the futuristic adobe looking building in Vienna). It looks GREAT for a sci fi desert building

Bayonet22 Dec 2009 7:18 a.m. PST

Idk yet but I think they look like combine from Half life 2

I'm working right now so I can't get on a gaming site to post specific pics so here is my google fu.

Hexxenhammer22 Dec 2009 7:35 a.m. PST

Space nazis. I'll be getting some Old Crow tanks and half-tracks to go with them. Perfect opponents for my "good guy" GZG NAC troops.

Smokey Roan22 Dec 2009 7:46 a.m. PST

Bayonet, what is that? Combine Half Life 2? A vidyo game?

mad monkey 122 Dec 2009 8:10 a.m. PST

They look kinda samurai-ish, use them as Japanese coporate troops?

yes Smokey, it's a video game.

Bayonet22 Dec 2009 8:31 a.m. PST

A cracking good game at that!

Coyotepunc and Hatshepsuut22 Dec 2009 8:37 a.m. PST

I am going to use them alongside some Khurasan Garn as Mandanin Codominium raiders for my Traveller project. They will mostly face off against Sphere Fenix (represented by Rebel's modren German troops) and the Marlan Primate (which I will be using renassaince Jannisary conversions for.) Less frequent opponents are Hv'ika Kamlin (Khurasan Felids and Splintered Light Dark elves) and Union Crucis (lots of different forces lol!)

XRaysVision22 Dec 2009 9:10 a.m. PST

They do look sort of like samurai. Humm…I recently ordered the HotT Earth Force army from Rebel, maybe as the line expands, there will be enough variety to build a HotT SiFi Samurai HotT army as well. Just add some shashimono (back banners) and substitute a katana on a leader type figure and there ya go! Instant samurai space guys!

JRacel22 Dec 2009 9:36 a.m. PST

Thinking about it after see all your ideas, I may have to do up a test group with Sashimono to see how they look. I have some transfers I can use for Mon on the banners, so should not be too hard to do. These could make some killer Asian forces, not just Japanese, since modern Korean and some Chinese riot gear looks very much like Japanese Samurai armor. Really only the helemt makes the minis look a lot like Samurai, but it is easily enough to pull off that look with these miniatures. Thanks a lot for the ideas. Great discussion thread CC!

Helgahst from the video game killzone 2

Those "Helghast" look interesting:

Chrome Cat22 Dec 2009 2:15 p.m. PST

I think they also have an Oriental look. I think the Jap Corp soldiers would be the way i go for myself. So i'd paint them red and black most likely

Bayonet22 Dec 2009 2:46 p.m. PST

2 video game mentions in one thread! outstanding!

Helghast: picture

and combine: picture

I think these minis will look good as either Helghast or combine

AWuuuu22 Dec 2009 3:37 p.m. PST

Space nazis, Traveller combat armour, Warzone not sure what yet.

They are multi purpose, all I need is suport weapons and command

Cacique Caribe22 Dec 2009 4:06 p.m. PST

AWuuuu: "Space Nazis"

Or perhaps from somewhere more down to Earth, coming back to reclaim what they think is theirs?

TMP link

They could have cloned thousands and thousands of troopers, for when they were good and ready (and before the ice melted and their underground base was exposed).

Dan

Redroom22 Dec 2009 5:31 p.m. PST

I think they would make good Saudukar (sp) from the Dune series

doug redshirt22 Dec 2009 6:13 p.m. PST

I am painting them up as anti zombie specialist troops. Wearing anti-zombie armor and armed either with auto shotguns or a squad machine gun. Just need to finish another 40 zombies, so they have a target rich enironment of 120 zombies.

I think the Japanese style helmet reminds me of some of the riot helmets I have seen. The neck and side proctection is important to prevent zombies and vampires from getting bites on the neck.

sharkbait22 Dec 2009 7:42 p.m. PST

Advanced Nazi guards/security for the Nazi zombies. Kind of like CC's (Dan's) idea. Rebel Mini's Biohazard troops will be the "good guys" trying to cleanse Antarctica/the world of the Nazi zombies.

All of the above depends on what I receive for Christmas. If not, my birthday is right around the corner.

Steve Hazuka22 Dec 2009 8:00 p.m. PST

for some reason when I saw them I thought Flash Gordon movie

Privateer4hire22 Dec 2009 9:19 p.m. PST

I'm using them for SG2 and as 15mm 40k Space Marines. They do have special/heavy weapons and gun teams since I have some of them. I use the unhelmeted sergeant type guy as their commanding officer.

JRacel22 Dec 2009 10:25 p.m. PST

Privateer4hire, I think you are confusing the Earth Force Marines and the Titan Marines. So far only riflemen are available for the Titan Marines. Easy to understand the confusion on the names. Too many Marines!

Jeff

Ivan DBA23 Dec 2009 12:25 a.m. PST

I think, with a headswap, they would make great 15mm Tau.

JRacel23 Dec 2009 8:19 a.m. PST

I think, with a headswap, they would make great 15mm Tau.

Since the helmet, neck guard and gasmask are all attached into the body, it would be hard to do head swaps on these. Just wanted to make sure you were aware.

Jeff

Privateer4hire23 Dec 2009 4:54 p.m. PST

JRacel, you is right. I am using Earth Force guys not Titan ones.

Hexxenhammer24 Dec 2009 8:40 p.m. PST

I guess I won't be using them at all for awhile.

Sold out!

And I was just going to place my order today!

Eli Arndt27 Dec 2009 3:25 p.m. PST

Planning on using them as either another human faction or, more likely, as a humanoid alien faction. I have enough humans and need something alien, even if only remotely so. I'll likely do a head-swap or two with something alien to show that they are alien.

Lion in the Stars27 Dec 2009 3:36 p.m. PST

As Kerberos Panzer Cops (riot cops with MG42s… remind me not to indulge in any civil disobedience in that country!).

Already go a huge number of the Eureka scifi germans for their WW2 predecessors.

Admiral Yi Sun Sin is my Homie27 Dec 2009 6:13 p.m. PST

Mine are fascists who have broken away from Earth Alliance. They use the skimmer tanks and vehicles. Those are easier to build and use on Titan and for future "expansion". grin

QUESTION:

Anyone know when Rebel plans to release additional packs of Titan Marines?

link

Thanks.

Dan

War Monkey15 Mar 2010 11:23 p.m. PST

Well the way they look I think I would use them as the leading force to take over Titan or what ever world your playing, their world being a dying plant and all of the resources used up, their air almost too toxic for us, and our air almost too pure for them.

Little Big Wars16 Mar 2010 4:04 a.m. PST

I plan on using them as officers for my EF Marine with Scourge head Coalition States Dead Boys.

wminsing16 Mar 2010 6:03 a.m. PST

I know that command, support weapons and mortars in the in the works, but no ETA that I am aware of.

I plan to use mine as a smaller rival state to the 'High Imperium' (the current major power in my little homebrewed setting, represented by Earth Force Marines)- they do hail from a Titan-like planet though. Their people live in cramped domed settlements, and their government rules with an iron fist. I plan to get Old Crow vehicles to support them- Dragoon half-tracks for transport and probably their large Saber tank for support.

-Will

Wellspring16 Mar 2010 6:07 a.m. PST

I plan on using them exactly as stated: US troops stationed on Titan to protect commercial / colonial interests. Their gear is designed for the cryonic conditions there. GZG AV7 VTOLs are their main combat ferry: the small ducted fans are ideal for the low-gravity/dense atmosphere environment.

Hexxenhammer16 Mar 2010 8:25 a.m. PST

I've read that the atmosphere on Titan is so thick and the gravity so low, you could fly by strapping wings to your arms and flapping.

Cacique Caribe17 May 2010 10:19 p.m. PST

QUESTION:

Now that the Eureka SF Germans are finally out all the way, could the Rebel Titan Marines work as SF Japanese?

Dan

John Leahy Sponsoring Member of TMP19 May 2010 11:33 a.m. PST

Sure they could.

Lion in the Stars19 May 2010 12:39 p.m. PST

Yes, especially if you put the Krauts in Panzer gray armor/feldgrau cloth and the Japanese in Yellow Ochre armor/Khaki cloth.

But I still plan on using my Titan Marines as Kerberos Panzer Cops.

SonofThor20 May 2010 11:43 a.m. PST

I'm planning on using EF Marines as a successful break away colony (Renewed American Republic) from the earth and the Titan Marines as the expansionist Earth Hegemony. The Sahadeen might be wasteland warriors or guerrilla forces.

War Monkey20 May 2010 11:56 a.m. PST

Could be used as troops in the near future.
