Tall, short, more human or more wolf? On two legs or four ? Armed with claws or weapons [what kind] ? Any and all information very welcome while I work with the sculptor on creating them. Specifically, how large and bulky should they be compared to modern 15 [18mm] miniatures please. Make your posts as precise as possible please. That will help us a lot :D On my side I can promise updates and concept art. Thanks team ! Piotr |

American Werewolf in London, in my opinion, scariest looking Werewolf ever! picture Fun side note, if you remember that movie, you remember the sound of the howl
i grew up on a ranch, a neighbor far away had a dog that howled just like that. best part .. first time i heard it .. i was walking to a neighbors on a foggy night! bout P-issed myself! |

Bipedal. Ripped clothing which is not clearly dateable. Normal human height but bulky upper torso. Hybrid human / wolf head. Unarmed. |

Bipedal, more of a wolf-like human than a vaguely human-like wolf. That is -- a humanoid shape with lupine features (heavy body hair, mostly human face with wild mane of hair and perhaps pointed ears, no long snouts.) Taller, more muscular than a typical 15mm/18mm human (7 scale feet tall?) Clawed hands. No clothes or tatters of clothes. Weaponless, but a few castings with open hands suitable for insertion of simple weapons (swords, clubs) for pack leader types. Active poses (running/charging) are best with a few more static poses pointing or gesturing (head back howling?) Pete |
Stewbags | 03 Dec 2009 8:25 a.m. PST |
i realy like the dog soldier ones, but american ww in london also good. the Underworld ones are very good as well, or the shewolf in the Howling or Howling II, raaaarrrr. Seriously though, female would be good as well. As for poses, i think sloppypainter has that covered, though i think i would prefer a more dog face than he describes. I deffo prefer unarmed and all but butt neked, if for no other reason makes them useful across several genres. |
The Black Tower | 03 Dec 2009 8:46 a.m. PST |
Call me old fashioned but I liked the Hammer Oliver Reed type, no weapons please! It should look man like rather than just a big bipedal wolf |

I love this pose: picture I kinda expect for them to run on all fours, except at the moment of striking. Standing on three (or simply bipedal, but crouching) makes them it than a wolf, though less than a man. In any case, that type of pose lends itself to use in tunnels and corridors too. Dan |

Cacique Caribe | 03 Dec 2009 9:39 a.m. PST |
Why not? I think a tail, even a short one, makes them look more wolf-like than bigfoot-like. Long snout helps too. Dan |
Mad Dog | 03 Dec 2009 9:56 a.m. PST |
Taller than human. Definitely long snout, hate the human face look. No clothes tatters. Would prefer upright poses. Optional weapons would be nice, or open hands for conversions. |

Shaken not stirred
Or, I would like them weaponless in minimal or non-descript clothing/tatters. This will make them usable in all settings.
As for anatomy, I prefer the hulking, hunched brut style popular in the 80's "Howling" movies, "Silver Bullet", "Dog Soldiers" "Van Helsing" and repeated in the "Underworld" movies. I do prefer my werewolves covered mostly in fur – none of these bare-skinned wannabes. I really don't see any particular issue with werewolves having breasts. Let's not forgoet that part of their anatomy is human, so if we are mixing wolf and (wo)man why not? I will respect personal tastes in this, but really see no logical arguement against it. -Eli

Cacique Caribe | 03 Dec 2009 1:07 p.m. PST |

Lion in the Stars | 03 Dec 2009 1:13 p.m. PST |
I agree w/ emu2020, and prefer the White Wolf/Rackham look: damn big wolf walking on its hind legs, not the Lon Chaney Wolfman look. If your 15mm figures are scaled to roughly 1/100 (5'10" man standing at attention is 17.5mm tall), they should be about 22mm tall, even with their legs in that duck-walk posture! |
Cacique Caribe | 03 Dec 2009 2:23 p.m. PST |
I'd say, anything between 20-22mm is fine. There must be some variety in the "pack". :) The slightly smaller ones could be juveniles or females. Dan |

Perhaps he means weird stuff like this: link link Dan |
Inquisitor Thaken | 03 Dec 2009 2:34 p.m. PST |
Sure, maybe with the remains of an SS uniform (complete with peaked cap of course) and maybe even a luger if the GM is feeling really nasty. Just something I could use for Weird War II or maybe Indiana Jones between the wars kinda stuff. BTW, you might have a nice fit with FOW figures, if you did something like that. Just a thought. |
Cacique Caribe | 03 Dec 2009 2:40 p.m. PST |
Piotr, To "throw them a bone", just make a few heads for those wanting to do that sort of thing. But hire your sculptor to focus on what the majority will use. :) Dan |
Pole Bitwy PL | 03 Dec 2009 2:47 p.m. PST |
NOT this kind of werewolf I think right CC ? ;) picture Seriously, just as with the Simians, a separate packet or two of Nazified Werewolves [or Wehrwolfs] is OK with me. A packet is two copies each of four different poses btw. I think a gorget [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gorget] with the Reichsadler on it or on an armband. Additionally, a peaked cap and a Luger or MP40 as weapons
? CC: A separate head sprue [5 versions] is in the making right now ;) |

Eli Arndt | 03 Dec 2009 3:55 p.m. PST |
Piotr, As muh as I'd love to see a mini of a scantty Nazi chick, it is a bit off target. Personally, I think you will get a broader market if you leave your werewolfs as generic as possible. Then you can sell to fantasy, pulp, horror and WWW2 players. -Eli |
Pole Bitwy PL | 03 Dec 2009 4:20 p.m. PST |
Eli, I plan on packet[s] of generic werewolves as well as a later addition of a packet or two of Nazi werewolves. I think that will satisfy almost everyone ;) That 'chick' was returned as part of the results from Google Images for Nazi werewolves
:o) |

CPT Jake | 03 Dec 2009 5:55 p.m. PST |
I'm jumping in late here, and will obviously be the minority but
I want a few as mentioned above without weapons. I do prefer some tattered clothes (ties them back to people turning into beast vice pure beast). However, I also want a couple poses with M4 carbines or AK47s (and prefer the M4) for a scenario I have. US Troopers clearing a cave complex in Tora Bora get attacked by some weird beasty and a couple get bit. Become lycans. They retain human thinking patterns even in beasty form (though may have 'impulse contol' issues. They use M4s. Army keeps 'em as they prove to have some damned good tracking skills with their new enhanced beasty senses. So, I want a few armed ones too. |
Pole Bitwy PL | 04 Dec 2009 3:10 a.m. PST |
"
Army keeps 'em
" So typical of the army :D Sure, why not. Any other gear apart from the M4 like unit patches ? After all it would be very bad to open fire on friendly werewolves
;) |
CPT Jake | 04 Dec 2009 3:54 a.m. PST |
Some web gear with ammo pouches and a grenade or two. Knowing they are lycans they can have what they need when they switch, right? But minimal gear, not too much, it would interfere with movement. Jake |

AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON, THE DOG SOLDIERS, THE HOWLING, these are my favorite werewolf movies of all time. WOLFEN is also one of my favorite books and movies, but, there are not classic werewolves but apex predators who have been man's rival on EARTH since way back when.
AWIL is the most frightening of werewolves ever produced by HOLLYWEIRD or any one else today.
since the werewolf has soooo much going for it, i prefer mine to be four legged, non tech using, ravening, blood thirsty monsters hopefully the werewolf will never turn into a were LASSIE! l GAKK! look it is were-LASSIE! she is soooo pretty, smart, loyal and sweet!
i still cannot handle the idea of wimpy, tree hugging, vampires that seems to be so popular at present! BAH! these are monsters that prey on human beings! they should be feared and loathed, not turned into juvenile or adult erotic fantasy critters who are forever striving to come to grips with their monstrousness, and only suck blood from a willing partner!
BAH!

BlackDog6: A pack of huge not-standing wolves is in the queue already. They will be significantly larger than typical wolves Additionally, a sprue of five different werewolf heads should reach me in the next few days. Those heads will be slightly smaller than the upcoming werewolves, to fit current 15mm minis. |
