Howdy y'all! How do the Falschirmjagers from Resistant Roosters Miniatures compare to Battlefront's? Can they be combined with each other or do they differ significantly in size? Thanks in advance and Salut y'all! |

If you're using the "classic" Battlefront FJ, the Resistant Roosters ones are a pretty good fit. Some of the individual BF sculpts that are just coming out to augment the older figures are kind of flat and weedy-looking (like the command team here): link
and the RR figures will be much bulkier than those. But generally they will go OK. The RR figures are best for NW Europe, of course. Allen |

Allen by "classic" do you mean those FJ figures that are available before the new boxed set? I will probably get either the BF boxed set or the deluxe FJ company from RR. I will also likely get BF's PAK 40 75mm as I don't know who else may do AT Guns. By the way my Poles are almost done so I'm looking at another project for next year. Our only German player has left the area so we need another force to fill in the void. Thanks again. Bruce the Texas Grognard |

Well I am a German player where just about everybody else has left. But it is a long way from Washingtopn to Texas. |

I'd have to agree with Allen's size assessment
And of course, if you go with the RR figures, you can take advantage of our new Lower prices and Free US shipping. Sorry, couldn't resist the sales pitch |

>>> Allen by "classic" do you mean those FJ figures that are available before the new boxed set? Yep. Keep in mind that the new set contains mostly the old figures; you can easily spot the skinny, two-dimensional new ones: link
even though the sculptor says there is no difference! (Hi, GrotGnome! [waving]): link I suspect most of the rest of us do
Anyway, the older figures are nice, solid ones, and the RR FJ are nice, robust figures, too. I'd be tempted, Mike, except that I have this stupidly large stash of older BF FJ to work on, including the old packs that included Panzerfausts, and the old packs of the FG42- and StG44-armed ones, just waiting for the riiiight moment in the war. the RR FJ are nice, robust figures, too. Probably the reason why I have a company on hand and two more on the way
That begs the question, "what the hell am I going to do with a full battalion of FJ?" |

Mike do the number figures in RR packs match those in Battlefront? Ie if I get your deluxe FJ company will I have the requisite number of figures to field the Fortress Europe Fallschirmjager list? Salut! Bruce the Texas Grognard |

Bruce, I beleive the RR deluxe company pack gives you more figures then you need for a FOW company. IF you get the deluxe box set you will have some extra figures. For example in the HQ unit there is a FJ medic that is a very nice figure that you do not need to base. I also have a RR deluxe company pack (with an extra platoon pack) painted, plus plenty of Battle Front support units for this FJ unit. |

Bruce, Deluxe should give you more than enough figures – I'd have to pull up my figure count list to give you specifics, but typically we provide more than the number of figures required for FOW. – Mike Taber |

" Well, your imagination, or eyesight, is steering you wrong, again, Allen. The "extras" were made from the remains of the old ones so there literally is no difference. |

Really, Evan? What "remains" went to make the poor, pancaked fellow on the left here? picture Certainly nothing like the robust chap on the right! Allen |

A two dimensional photo of three figures facing in different directions
I'm sure you'll figure it out eventually. |

See Allen, the chap on the right is equally thin if you turn him round. He's only fat in one dimension ;-) |

Erm
no. The figure on the right (of which I have a disturbing number) is what those of us who started with toy soldiers long ago called "ronde-bosse": fully three-dimensional. The poor fellow on the left does not quite qualify as a flat, but is definitely "demi-ronde-bosse". Maybe I should be thankful for a nod to traditional toy soldier styles! Allen |
