hi gang,

did a full tmp search about that (not checking all the
posts but a good amount) and found those two:
."Airbrush Painting Techniques", Osprey: the poster
talking about it was rather underwhelmed…
."AIRBRUSHING AND FINISHING SCALE MODELS", brett Green,
Osprey.

I know nothing about Airbrush and would like to find a good
book to learn the technique.
Got a favorite, one or two you would recommend?

A book will only teach you a little, most of the real learning actually comes from trial and error yourself.

A quick google reveals lots of free sites to look up.

Search on the Fine Scale Modeler site. I've got a couple of books on airbrushing and there hasn't been anything in them that I hadn't read in the manual that came with the brush or articles in modeling magazines. The FSM site does have a good amount of fixes and information you don't find in the books.

Go and buy a copy of Fine Scale Modeller, and look out for their special tips editions.

You can also wander over to the Flames of War forums and check out their modelling and painting forum, plenty of info there.

The Osprey book is ok, if you're just starting out it gives a good break down on the basics. It won't teach you anything about what's the best technique, but it will give you plenty of basic info that you're going to want to know. If you can pick it up cheap it's worth it. Full retail, it's your call.

Hey Spring, I've been using an airbrush for over 20 years, on everything from 1/35th tanks to 1/285th micro armour. The best way to learn is read the paperwork that comes with your airbrush and then using it. Playing with it is the most fun.
