I have a French battalion which has 275 figures in its organisation, based in 3 ranks of five (3 stands to company), my light company is based individually so 45 skirmishers. We have a home set of rules and have fun, the Brits win if they kill the Colonel and as many company officers as possible, the French wins if the lights prevent this. My question is which set of rules would best fit the above set up. Your help is appreciated. |

Perhaps the free AWI/1812 rules from All the King's Men (54mm) could be adapted. link |

Sharp Practice by Too Fat Lardies is one of the best Napoleonic skirmish rulesets. The emphasis is on having a laugh. toofatlardies.co.uk |

I've played the rules from All the Kings Men and they are very interesting and a lot of fun. If those don't do it for you perhaps Brother Against Brother might do the trick. |

if you are having fun with what you have and are satisfied then maybe you should not look for something else, there is no definite improvement in changing to what someone else thinks is better! Heck, what you have developed on your own (unpublished) might be best. If you are not as pleased with what you are using, then there is a scad of choices, some already listed before! |

All of the above as well as the HG Wells "Little Wars" rules which were designed for toy soldiers. |

I'd fancy Sharp Practice for this, although our forthcoming Christmas Special will have Captain Swype's 1910 edition of "Carpet Campaigns" included in it which looks hugely fun. |
