Terrific work as always. I have been trying to get some 28mm projects done lately, but with bad influences like your site, it is really tempting to chuck the lead for the moment and bust out some plastics and paint! evil grin

Is the Middle Earth project still alive as well?

Yup. in fact, the orcs have already been primed:)

Nicely done. How do you do your basing?

Thanks,

John

@ nom de guerre: yup, I think Roma Victor is ok too. Got Roma Victrix from the coin engraving here:

@ John Leahy: Thanks, I base the same as the other guys I think: brush on PVA in uneven places, dip in container of crushed aquarium gravel ( the bleached sandy kind), let dry, then more PVA and 1 or 2 kinds of woodland scenics (I sometimes mix colors – a trick I learned from a Jesuit who loved trains:)) Colors here:

Our old Latin master had a little joke about Latin nouns ending in -tor, m, and -trix,f:
Lover – m. amator / f. amatrix
Hunter – m. venator / f. venatrix
Conjuror – m. bagator / f. bagatrix….

Ah, crushed aquarium gravel. It looked similar but different. Wasn't quite sure.

Thanks,

John

As suggested by cooey2ph, as well as bilsonius and his old Latin master, "Roma" is a feminine noun, so the correct adjective would be the feminine "Victrix," rather than the masculine "Victor."

Cheers,
Scott
