Hello all!

I have just purchased some of the lovely Perry Sudan British and wonder if you can help?

I intend painting the khaki rather than the grey uniform but Vallejo khaki appears to me to be far too dark. I am hopeless at identifying colours and wondered if anybody could point me in the direction of a more accurate vallejo (or other proprietary brand) colour. I am aware that the uniforms were not "uniform" but would appreciate any help.

I think you could use Yellow Ochre for the base and Dark Sand or Iraqui Sand for 1st and 2nd light.

I use the Foundation range from GW though. A technique that I have found particularly useful is (over black priming) to drybrush all the miniature with Calthan Brown (a medium brown) and then Deneb Stone (a light khaki) for the lights, mixing a bit of white for the last light. I am very glad with the results.

Regards-
