Quick question.

The Air ID flags often seen draped across the deck of German AFVs in Poland, France, and early Barbarossa.

Were they Red with White circle & Swastika Nazi flags?

Or something else?

every photo i have seen regarding air recognition flags shows the one you have described.

Nazi flags appear to have been the most popular, I've not seen photos of any other type.

Yup bloody great Swastiki Ensign draped over or, very rarely, painted on.

Paras carried smaller Purple, I think could be wrong, silk panels to mark their positions. These could be placd together to make directional signs.

Thanks Gents.

I can now merrily carry on painting the flag on me 28mm StuG D.

Pics when you're done with it?

I dunno about that – I'm still experimenting with German armour colours, poorly for the most part.

If you want to see 28mm armour and men airbrushed by my hand, then feel free to browse my photobucket album

All sorts of stuff in there.
