I am looking for a good scholarly work(s) that cover France in that period. They do not need to be Militarily focussed, but would be better covering the social and political changes, as well as a timeline of the changes in the period. Any suggestions?

The great classics by Georges Lefebvre, which include The Great Fear, The French Revolution (2 vols) and Napoleon (2 vols).
