First shots of some of the new Knights.

I saw the castings at SELWG a few weeks back and very nice they were too.

I only wish there were some variety in equipment. For an army that equipped itself from private sources, it looks a little incongruous that everyone is wearing barrel helms…

These are targeted at the mid 13th C, we'll be releasing Knights/sergeants in assorted kettle helms etc in the next week or so.We will also have knights in sugar loaf helms etc soon.

Nice, but I own way too many Knights in 15/25 scales. I have at least 300 in 25/28 alone.

These are very very nice, Madmick. Perhaps the best that I've seen for the mid 13th century. All of Curtey's lines are very appealing.

That's good news, I'll certainly be checking them out.

Mick, will you be doing any crossbowmen mail-armored in a surcoat or gambeson? I'd like to have some religious order crossbowmen and like a wealthier/more formal feel to the MAA. :D

madmick18 Nov 2009 12:01 p.m. PST

We are working putting all the archers, crossbowmen and spearmen into various chain and gambeson combinations.

This is good. Very good then. When I first saw the range, I was not aware it was not finished yet. Glad to see these sort of things coming out.

I couldn't resist, so I ordered a sample pack! :)

I can't wait for the Hungarians and Cumans – it would have been interesting to see how they would have fared against the Mongols in a straight-up battle, without all the internal dissension and backstabbing.

Please call it "mail" in your listings, not "chain". And I do hope they won't be in mixed packs containing different types of armors.

13th Century? So these would be just right for The Battle of Montaperti, 1260, between Florence and Siena in Tuscany as part of the conflict between the Guelphs and Ghibellines.

Is anyone working on such armies? Very interesting period.

How do they compare with other manufacturers' work of the same era?

They look nice, Im also wondering about how they compare scale wise? I will be interested in the scale of the horses compared to other ranges.
