Has anyone seen any 54mm-1/32nd scale 'modern' plastic army men? I've seen plenty of army men with WWII or Vietnam era weapons, but have you seen any with modern (1990-2009) weapons?

If you're talking about the toy soldier types you get in clear plastic bags – I think they're a little bit smaller than 1/32nd, aren't they? And I think I've only seen them with M16-looking rifles – and of course flame-throwers. Then there's that big leap to spacemen with laser weapons, I guess.

New Ray, probably find them cheaper at the dollar store or supermarket:

Wow – look at that – wish they had that stuff when I was a kid – pretty awesome line there.

Fishel also makes some moderns. I have seen them on occasion at toys r us in tub play sets. They even have guys in NBC suits.

Come to think of it, there's surprisingly little in the way of plastic army men, uniformed and equipped post-1990 or so.

There's a few things coming out of Russian, the police set in the link here has mostly useful poses and I've seen a some Taliban figures as well.

What about the Bravo Company and Forces of Valor lines?
