Would the British 5.5" Howitzer on the block trail carriage have had the same carriage as the 6lbr or the 9lbr guns or did it have a unique carriage all its own?

It used the conventional twin carriage, rather like the style used by the rest of Europe, not the block carriage.

This is the relevant quote. Edit by me to Stephen's original intention!

The Royal Artillery did not us the Block Trail for their 6-pdr foot batteries. The 9-pdrs were always on block trails. The Royal horse artillery always had block trail including the howitzer. This is common error to put the RHA howitzer on a bracket trail.

Interesting. The last thing I remember reading on this suggested that a block trail was designed, but never put into production.
