Would the British 5.5" Howitzer on the block trail carriage have had the same carriage as the 6lbr or the 9lbr guns or did it have a unique carriage all its own? |

It used the conventional twin carriage, rather like the style used by the rest of Europe, not the block carriage. |

This is the relevant quote. Edit by me to Stephen's original intention! The Royal Artillery did not us the Block Trail for their 6-pdr foot batteries. The 9-pdrs were always on block trails. The Royal horse artillery always had block trail including the howitzer. This is common error to put the RHA howitzer on a bracket trail. |

Interesting. The last thing I remember reading on this suggested that a block trail was designed, but never put into production. |
