Hi Group,

I already have all of the Front Rank and Old Glory French General figures plus the RAFM Montcalm. Does anyone have any more suggestions for Generals in 28mm?

Also, does anyone know who makes the French 4lb bn gun a la Suedoise?

I live in the USA but have had success in ordering from the UK.

Bit pricey but Foundry make a pack.

You must absolutely order ALL of your cannon from Elite Miniatures. These are works of art. Elite has the Swedish 4 pdr, and the Valliere 4, 8 and 12 pounders. The intricate coat of arms on each barrel must be seen to be believed.

For generals, Elite makes a nice looking generic French general. You could also get some very nice French generals and staff officer plus King Louis XV from the Suren range from Tradition Scandinavia. Front Rank also has some nice French generals.

DAF,
I will follow your advice for guns and order some from Elite when I get to artillery for my SYW French army.

Der Alte Fritz,

Thank you for your advice. I orders 2x 4lb field guns and 2x 4lb bn guns from Elite (Triangle Minis) plus some mounted officers. I also ordered some more French infantry and mounted officers and artillery crew from Minden Minis.

Do you go directly to Tradition of London for your Surens?

I used to buy my Surens and Staddens from the dealer in the US, before he passed away this year. So I haven't tried any of the other sources as yet, but I suppose that I would go direct to the manufacturer in Sweden. Or you can buy them through Spencer Smith in the UK (excellent service).
