Wondered if anyone knew of or remembered this magazine. I remember I paid what at the time was an outrageous amount of money for it. I believe it featured a British colonial soldier on the cover. Inside was an article about converting Airfix Napoleonic French infantry into Mexican infantry for the Alamo. A whole beautiful article on reconstructing the Alamo. This was my first wargaming purchase
my Holy Grail if you will. Would like to track it down if anyone remembers it. Thanks! |

Remmember it and sold Vol 1 Issue 1 on Ebay several years ago. |

People, I think, are remembering select bits from Soldier and Soldier On. I have both in my collection. |

I found my copy among the container full of 'Army and navy' and 'War Monthly' and other hard to find UK magazines (about 50 of them) It was volume 1, #2 October 1969. |

This one was "obtained" at Hampden Drug, a tiny little drug store in a tiny little backwoods town in Massachusetts. God knows how it got there. Such an obscure, expensive magazine on an all but unknown hobby for a small town. I'll never forget the conversion of Airfix figures to Mexican infantry, was like a bolt out of the blue
Wish I kept it. Mothers are the great disposers boyhood treasure. |
