I should know the answer to this but….I don't.
----------
Recently I received an inquiry asking for 28mm historical miniatures for the SYW in India. I hunted around and came up with generic Indians but nothing else. The generic chaps are fine – naturally but what about others?
----------
Anything else in 28mm?
Merci,
Bill

What exactly are you looking for? Sepoys? or Europeans?

First Corps do a range though strictly speaking some of the sepoys are more suited for the AWI period and later.

Parkfield Miniatures (UK) does a small line of "Clive in India" sepoys. I do not have any so cannot comment of their style or appearance other than what's on their web store.

I am getting into the same period as well. Any 28mm French and British from the SYW will work for India.

1st Corps look to have a nice range but I have not ordered any as of yet. (Still building my Indian Mutiny Army).

You can also pull from the Foundry India range, some OG (Sikh Wars and Indian Mutiny), also try Falcon Figures (I just ordered some today) and London Warroom (now defunct) may have some left overs form the Men of India range.

I'm interested in the same, but for the French.

Used standard SYW French fusiliers for my Lally and Lorraine battalions.
Got some Parkield French Sepoys as they have the flat turban. Parkfield also makes french artillerists in vests.
Have some 1st Corp Sepoys also but have not figured out how to paint them. Also have 1st Corp natives firing.
Used some Front Rank French with Pokelom for Topaz.
Took some Old Glory Marlborough period troops marching and gave them a white and blue checkeredpattern andthey represent French African unit, I had found one referenece to this unit, but usedconjecture for the uniform.
Took some grenadiers with fur hat to create Kerjeans company of Grenadiers. An working on the rest of Kerjeans unit.
Got some Foundry Marlborough French dragoons in cap for Bussy's cavalry.
Don't have my figures handy so can't recall everything as most are only partially complete.

For native Indians:
Bear Den has some Indians and got some artillery.
I managed to get some London Warroom Indians for cavalry but do not feel confident in my research to have them painted yet.
On a Foundry 20% off sale got some Indian musketeers advancing, and some native cavalry with swords.
Picked up some bamboo spears from somewhere, possibly Redoubts Wellington range for a future unit.
Again can't recall who but there is a canon out there with a Tiger head at the end of the barrel and it will go with the native troops.

Picked up at a SYW Convention a painted General on Elephant and a cannon on a cart being pulled by bullocks and a few kettle drummers, which will add some nice flash to the army.

I don't know if that helps. I got Mike Kirby's book but his forces in the pictures are 10mm IIRC.

Good Luck !

We're hoping to expand the SYW in India during next year.

Everyone,
Thank you very much.
---
For Mick,
Are your miniatures 25-28mm or?

Respectfully,
Bill
