Hi

I see that the old and Excellent Revell Aztecs and Conquistadors Sets. Are now being produced by a company called "MARS" It would seem by the Plastic Soldier Review Page these are copies.
Can anyone here comment on this?
Are they still the same great Figures as produced by Revell?
Or is the Standard less good
Cheers
Steve

Hmmm, wonder if it has anything to do with the release of the FoG Aztec supplement ??

I do not have any experience with Mars' Aztec range but my experience from their TYW Swedes is that the production values are not as good as the originals and there is a good deal of flash to cleanup. However they are the only game in town when you need more reiters. Better than a slap in the stomach with a cold dead fish as a Canadian I once knew would say.

Mars copies are made of a softer plastic than the originals and have a lot less detail. I suggest you look at the version by Cesear for the Conquistadores. Unfortunately no Axtecs, but the Maya are nice.

Pictures of the Mars versions can be found here, the conquistadores don't have any cavalry.

I have the Mars moderns and the quality is horrible. Id go with the alternate suggestion above.

There are Cavalry in the Caeser Conquistador sets. You get 4 Cavalry figs per box. I own a set of the Mars Pirates. They are actually pretty nice. I own way too many of the Revell sets so have no need to get any knock offs. The Caeser Mayans and Incas are really good. I was thinking about using either the TSATF variant or the WAB lists which were all done by one guy and are excellent!

Thanks,

John
