does anyone produce a mini of the space crusier yamato say about 3 1/2 inches long? I have seen the pewter ones for the Star Blazers Fleet games and they seem really small. Smaller than my Bab 5 Fleet Action scale minis. |

I doubt anyone else makes the Yamato, due to nobody else having the license. |

Look towards the gashapon collectible figures from Japan. I think the Megahouse Yamato Cosmo Fleet figures are just about the size you are looking for. While you can order a display box with a bunch of 'less-than random' figures from import sites like Hobby Link Japan, there are various Ebay sellers that part them out. Since most are in Hong Kong, be prepared for a shipping hit. |

green, speaking as one who has ordered regularly from the Far East and especially HobbyLink Japan, I can vouch for the quality and size of the Gashpon – and the excellent mail order service from HLJ! I believe you're looking for these: link
Hope this helps!

Back when Leland and I were both shopping at San Antonio Hobbies and I was staring at the horrible things he was doing to expensive and rare Japanese models he had on display there, there was a line of small ship models for Yamato. The Yamato itself would be close to the size you are looking for. Sadly, those tend to go for a lot of money now. And before you ask, Leland, you would probably recognize my face, but not my name. I bought a "Police Squad" of those little buckethead robots and an APC from you the first year Pacificon was at the (spit) Clarion. |

There was one made by Bandai for a company called Twentieth Century Imports in 1985.They were marketed under the Star Blazers logo.Probably the one that goes for a lot of money on ebay.It is about 4 1/2 inches long.On the Star Blazers show it was called space cruiser Argo. |

Dan 055, I really liked the one shown in your link, but the only problem was I could not contact them about postage via the link. I will try another route. |

The only problem with that one is that it is a cut-away model. Though the price is pretty good. |

I have about 40 of the Bandai Yamato mini-kits. They are superb, and the EDF destroyers come as 2 in a box! I was able to pick up a swag from my local hobby store when they were re-released about 5-6 years ago. Hunt around, and you can still find them for around $5 USD or so. |

Green beanie, mail me at les_howie@yahoo.com I will measure up the Yamato from, I think, the kits Wildman is talking about. If it meets your needs and nothing else looks better we can talk a reasonable price. I like the other ships in the line as SF ships in general, but the Yamato herself never really spoke to me. |

Heads up, people! Those mini kits are available again in "Panorama" sets at a very reasonable price: link
They are great lil' kits indeed; Lord knows I've built plenty, and cut up plenty more for other projects
. MWaahhahaahahahahaa!!!!

There's also an injection kit of the EDF battlecarrier now. I wonder how the Musashi Enterprises battlecraft would look posed on her flight deck? Hmmmm
. And the Desslok wineglass on HLJ is just the thing for more civillised game sessions
