I want to buy my first airbrush. Any advice on models, brands? Also would be interested in any books on technique. Any advice would be appreciated. |

There are many, many factors to consider, including how much you're willing to spend, how often you'll use it, what you'll use it for, what scale you'll be working in. Your best bet would be to search the Message Boards for "airbrush", do some reading, then ask some specific questions. This question has come up often here on TMP, and there's a lot of good advice already on the Message Boards. Not trying to brush you off, but it's very difficult to recommend an airbrush setup without knowing a lot more about what you want to do with it. |

Check the old threads. I will reiterate. Start with a single action model -- unless you are an artist, single action is probably all you need. mjc |

As mentioned – there are tons of threads on this. I'll reiterate my appreciation of the Aztek 4709, and a real compressor that can be used for other tools, as opposed to an airbrush compressor. Doug |

I will also recommend a dual action brush. Check the prior messages . I also recommend you check bearair.com . It is a site that sells all kinds of airbrushes and has tips on what works with your needs . It is where I get my stuff ( happy customer only) . |

I recomend tcpglobal.com for airbrushes, they're Master brand is cheap and pretty dependable. As for the airbrush it's self unless your going to do just priming with it don't wast your money on a single action model, look for a dual action gravity feed model. I've been using airbrushes to do most of my painting you can see my work in my gallery page pigmentedminiatures.com |

Thanks for the resources, guys. I am looking at one primarily for base coating 15mm tanks and doing camo after the highlight stage. I have some larger models on the hobby table for the future and want to use it to base coat those as well. 1:48 Panzer I & II to begin with. 1/72 Hind

Brookhurst Hobbies had a demo of an airbrush they carry at Historicon. If I get one it will be from them. Jeff |
