Now we need some Allies, since zombification isn't picky…

Making me consider a new period or at least Castle Wolfenstien. The joys of 15mm everything is affordable.

Fantastic! Great to see these out.

Just fry the zombies with napalm and flame throwers. It makes for a fast scenario! LOL!

Mike does make a fine product. Unfortunatly he is like all of us small cottage companies. A lot of interests in many areas but little cash to fund great ideas.

Dream Pod 9 has a few Allied zombies in their Gear Krieg line.

I think these are fantastic, but now what is supposed to fight them? I'm with Rudy… lots of interest in too many areas. I could always get Peter Pigs, but mixing manufacturers and styles just doesn't "match" perfectly enough for my tastes.

I'd rather see complete product ranges and themes rather than these fantastic fill-in-the-blanks with no supporting models.

Other examples of this: two great "not-Firefly" lines, but no "not-Reavers" to fight. Lots of great War of the Worlds martians, very few contemporary military forces of equal quality.

They are pefect for the Undead States of America expansion called Undead Universe.

They'll be in a boxed set for All Things Horror.

@clkeagle

I'm glad you asked. :) We have not made the offical announcement, but we will have a Box set for All Things Horror from Two Hour Wargames. It will have a scenario for dealing with these Undead:) As for what to fight them with.. well, we have SAS, US forces, Civilan Hunters, Contractors, Street punks and a bunch more :)

Also, I have pre-sold a bunch to some local "WWII players of a very popular WWII game system". They are using a rule in that system that actually works with Nazi Zombies :)

'bout time. Great idea! Fun zombies! I'm in!

Actually, they're German. But the Allies do get helicopter troops, making it easy to escape undead clutches.

Mike: looking forward to see what you come out with. I love the modern stuff (bought the ATZ set and a few other bits from you a few weeks ago), so I'll tide myself over with a B-Movie "reanimated Nazi zombies against modern special forces" until the WWII stuff comes out. :)

Okay, I need to license the rights to that movie before someone else reads this thread…

Compare prices, and you'll realize why I'd rather buy from Rebel…

How can you tell they are zombies? They just look like normal 15mm to me.

Steve Hazuka16 Nov 2009 6:02 a.m. PST

When I was in The Nethrlands during the 80's we wandered around in some old WWII German bunkers. We were wondering if we'd find Nazi Zombies, now we can re-create that trip and discover them.

combatpainter Fezian16 Nov 2009 7:24 a.m. PST

Well for one thing they don't have weapons. Two- there faces are all wrinkly but they really need to be painted an undead color to make their "deadness" more obvious. Also, one is dragging a rifle as if he has forgotten how to use it and another is missing an arm an is in no apprarent pain while another is carrying the limb as if he carried a bag of biscuits. These things help but to be perfectly honest the whole scary thing for me about zombie movies is that sometimes you can't tell the dead from the living.

Steve Hazuka16 Nov 2009 7:58 a.m. PST

thats why when people ask if someone can make zombies I always consider just using regular figures and converting. I think if you look at Command set figures you see less weapons and easily convertable figures.

Andoreth16 Nov 2009 11:07 a.m. PST

Great, I must order some, or more precisely get my sister in law to order some since she lives in the States and then she can send them over as my Chtistmas present thus getting a higher import value.

I only have a couple of questions about them.

Will they only be available in a boxed set, since zombies need to come in hordes and I really don't need a horde of scenarios?

If Rebel Minis were to do any more could they perhaps consider doing soldiers in late war uniforms with gaiters and helmet covers? This would fit better with my rationale, that zombies are the byproduct of the German efforts towards the end of the war to create super-soldiers capable of tapping into earth energy.

Finally taking up tabletopwarrior's point about converting figures, the wounded Germans set produced by Battlefront for FOW already includes staggering and strangely contorted figures, which could be used as zombies with little more than a paint job.

Dropship Horizon16 Nov 2009 11:54 a.m. PST

I had thought about the FOW wounded figs but they work out quite expensive for what are Zombies after all. Peter Pig has a wonderful array of decent Zombies amongst it's German packs, especially crew figs – those long faces help too!

I'm doing late War Gotterdammerung but these are soldats from earlier in the war risen from the dead!

Ordered two packs of the Nazi Zombies from Mike and will bulk out my horde with Pig & conversions!

Cheers

I think they are supposed to be for use by the German army in Gear Krieg, but are Allies who have been zombified. Though the sculpting is a bit crude, so its hard to tell for sure. They could definitely pass as zombified allied troops though, if you wanted to have an apparent mix of German and Allied zombies.
