Nice lander, who makes it? |
| TheCaptainGeneral | 15 Nov 2009 12:12 p.m. PST |
Our friend Combat Wombat made it and will have it in production through his company when he gets back from Iraq. |
| JamesonFirefox | 15 Nov 2009 12:28 p.m. PST |
Very cool. From the ruler I assume it is in scale for 15mm figures? I imagine you'll sell bunches of them once they're in production. |
| combat wombat | 15 Nov 2009 12:45 p.m. PST |
its about 3" long. I know ill use them in my armies!! its 13 pieces and i like it. im going to work on a vehicle pod too. cw |
| Eli Arndt | 15 Nov 2009 12:56 p.m. PST |
Holy crap! I love modular landers. Such a great vehicle for military or civilian minis. Also can do different payloads later! Good call on the vehicle pod. How about a gunship pod with side-mounted weapons for a sort of mini air support vehicle? 3" long is a good for squads and light vehicles. Any chance we might see a larger version later? Great stuff. -Eli |

Thats what I have been looking for a scenic prop with landing gear down for insertions and extractions in my gun crawl games. I have limited amounts of armor and I am leaning more towards a rapid deployment force. The vehicle pod will make it even more versatile. @Combat Wombat Are you planning any light vehicles to go with the vehicle pod? I am looking for futuristic jeep (i.e Warthog), tankettes and small fire team sized APC. Rapid response vehicles that are easily transported and used for bug hunts, fighting insurgents, securing airfields etc
When you return I will order several of your trucks and wheeled APC variants. I will also pick up several Bullfrogs. |

| Lampyridae | 15 Nov 2009 9:13 p.m. PST |
Nice chunky looking thing. @ Combat Wombat – are those circles intakes for lift fans? |
| combat wombat | 15 Nov 2009 9:33 p.m. PST |
Lamp: yes those are lift fans, each leg has vented thrusters on it. the concept is that the rear part of the engines rotate down as well. I think my small afv will fit under this thing, didn't bring one though. i am thinking of a gunship pod with tuurets that stick out each side. ill get a better picture posted tonight. cw |

Make sure the military dosen't claim it as their design since you made it on their time. Or Iraq might try to claim it since the design was made on their soil. Don't forget to include a FM-10 with it so we can do a proper PMCS also. |
| kmfrye | 16 Nov 2009 8:21 a.m. PST |
Very nice! Well done. Be safe, Scotty! |

| Tgunner | 16 Nov 2009 9:24 a.m. PST |
I've been to the sandbox
stay cool and get out of dodge safe. I love the mini, so count me in for a couple too! :D |
| Tgunner | 16 Nov 2009 9:25 a.m. PST |
I see the S:AAB ISSCV influence, but it feels more Starship troopers to me. 15mm, right? That would be perfect
my drops ships would be doing double duty! :) |
| combat wombat | 18 Nov 2009 6:06 a.m. PST |
OK, last night I started on a heavy lift drop ship the can handle a Medium tank or a platoon of infantry. It is a removable pod type craft and will have rotating out board engines. so far I have the pod roughed in, the legs started and the body frame shaped out. should be about 4-5" wide and 5-6" long when complete. ill post some oics of the WIP.
