Being a fan of Ghost in the Shell I'd love to gather the team together on the tabletop, but I'm struggling to think of suitable 28mm minis – any ideas? Cheers |

try hasslefree, Dionne for motoko, harby for Batau, I haven't found figures for the others yet. |

I'd not thought of Dionne as the major, but yes there is a possibility there. Which infinity figures would you suggest? |

if you can find them in 20mm, you can get proper-scale Tachikomas from a model company in Japan, they pack them in with the Jigabachi attack chopper kit(1/72 scale) |

Amazon has a nice boxed set of all the Tachikomas AND a bonus cyborg unit for like $20 USD smackers! |

I use Zoe (ignoring Pi-well) as the Major in civilian clothes, and the new ninja hacker for the Major in Assault suit. Togusa is a Guilang with a head swap. Batou is one of the heavy-infantry guys. I converted mine pretty heavily to have a multi-rifle/grenade launcher and a bare head, but I don't remember where I scrounged the head from. The body was the Wu Ming. Saitou is either a head-swap on the Guilang sniper or a head-swap on the ariadna Tankhunter w/autocannon. Ishikawa is the Kazak doctor with a headswap. Boma is another heavy-infantry trooper, just with a bald head (haven't actually converted him yet). Pazu could be another Guilang, or one of the Haqqislam troops with a trenchcoat, again with a headswap. Haven't found a good Aramaki or some of the characters that only show up in the comics, but I'm still working on them. Pics when I get the camera working correctly. I have a bunch of blue tachikoma from the DVDs I bought, and they're about the right size for 28mm figures. If you want the 1/72nd Jigabachi, try hobbylink japan: hlj.com/product/KBYKP-27 |

The PVC tachikomas from the DVDs fit in very well with 25/28mm figures, and as far as I can tell the collectors set available on Amazon or ebay are the same size. I also use the 1/72 scale Jigabachi with 25/28mm figures, since there is no obvious cockpit on the aircraft to give away the scale difference. I use the Hasslefree Dione figure for the Major and a conversion of the Rafm SWAT team leader for Batou. I also use a bunch of Infinty figures as generic combatants. |

Thanks for those mnis Lion in the stars, I'd hoped right over the Yu Jing mins, but after i saw the Kaisotsu Brutai, and stupidly didn't bother to look closer, but there seems to be a some better, err what can we say, vulputous females amongst them than in the other ranges that would work better as Kusanagi and few beefer models for Batou in similar suit styles. Where is the Zoe model from that you use for the major in plain clothes? Hmmm, I think I know what I'm going to use my Christmas money on now :) Tachikoma – is the Tachikoma from the trilogy boxed set? |

Zoe is a named character from the Nomad nations. picture I cut the bag out of her hand and added some more texture to her hair (painted it a darker purple, too). The Tachikoma I have were in the special edition releases of the Stand Alone Complex tv series (or was it from the Second Gig?). Got a black one, a couple blue ones with howitzer/grenade launcher, and a blue one with the Gatling. |

the Suit isn't my fave (nor is it to scale), but it rounds the collection out. |

And at quite the nice price, it seems! |

ahh, just tried ordering them, but they won't ship outside the US – stupid retailers! And can't find any in the UK amazon, well I'll have to keep searching. |

The Tachikomas are available from Hobby Link Japan as well, in random packaged boxes of 10 tho. Also the price is quite a bit higher than at Amazon.com, even for the "pearl edition" which is currently on sale: hlj.com/product/ORG02127 I bought a set of the regular Organic Ts (the same ones Amazon.com offers) when they were on sale at HLJ a year or two ago. Quite nice models tho I do believe they are a little oversized for 28-32mm. |
