I'm looking to build a FOG army for Imperial/Feudal German – 1150 – 1340 basically. I've found Old Glory has figs and Foundry has some (although I can't afford those). Are there any other lines out there that I'm missing? Steve |

Also, Mirliton link And you're gonna want their carroccio link to carry your battle standard Me – I played it economical and ordered from OG for a WAB-version of the army you're interested in. Dean |

Does anyone besides OG make figs with the funny helmets with goats and antlers on them? |

If you're doing 1150 specifically, the Black Tree 2nd Crusade is a very good range and has lots of germanic-looking figures that can be plundered. If you're doing approx 1250, Foundry's Barons War (Early medieval) range has several very germanic looking figures as well, so might be suitable for supplementing the Curtey's range (which unfortunately is very generic) to keep costs down. Finally, for 1340, check out some of the HYW ranges. Both Old Glory and Front Rank make specifically German figures (with FR being the better sculpted of the group). Note that this is a very broad time period you've selected, so FREX the BTD figures would be unsuitable to mix in with the FR or OG figures. So basically, you'll have to decide on a time period first, before collecting the neccessary miniatures. Damon. |

I have Front Rank from their Hundred Years War range and Gripping Beast from their Crusades range. Of the two I definitely prefer FR. Both ranges are generic enough to be used for West European armies of the time period you are considering. I also bought some Testudo Teutonic knights, some years ago and then they became impossible to find. They are superb figures, full of animation, but on the expensive side. By the way, if you want war wagons then you could do a lot worse than the Old Glory Hussite range. For the price they are excellent value. Kingmaker are, perhaps, superior models but they are much more expensive than OG. |

Thanks everyone. I am considering joining the Old Glory army and going mostly OG. It could save a lot of $$, but some of the other ranges have great figs so I'm torn. Steve |

Steve: Don't forget the Crusader range – also 40% off with the OG membership. They have some Dark Age stuff that may work for later periods – at least for me |
