Looking for some good books on War of 1st Coalition 1793-1797, and War of 2nd Coalition.

Historical fiction. Memoirs & Diaries. Most interest in Germany and Italy.

Suggestions?

I believe that Goethe accompanied Brunswick on the Valmy campagin and wrote a description of it. Phipp's has a history of the war, focusing onthe future marshalate. Otherwise, George Nafziger has a lot of material translated from French and German for sale.

Sichart's History of the Hannoverian Army has been digitalized, and contains material on the campaign.

The Austrian General staff also wrote a history of the conflict, available for download.
