I finally tried out my Viking army that I completed a couple of months back. It was a battle against an Anglo-Danish army. The Vikings had a big advantage in a match-up of Blades against predominantly Spear, yet it proved an interesting battle:

It provides background to the King Magnus' War campaign, which is slowly approaching its start.

Thanks. At this rate the campaign may take a while to get started if the preliminary 'history' continues to be uncooperative!

Classic DBM. The Saxon battle plan of setting up on a hill and allowing the enemy to throw himself against the shield wall and then attacking when they're repulsed worked to perfection.

Thanks. It was a lot of fun. As for the plan, that's what Harold and his men are telling themselves, but there was a lot of luck too--they got outflanked on both flanks and had Harald had better PIPs it would have been all over much sooner.
