Hi Guys, I just put large Pre-orders in for the following suggestions as they appear to have uses in Tekumel gaming: Fantasy Amazon Infantry link SIZE/SCALE: 28mm SET DESCRIPTION: Female infantry with a Mayan or Aztec influence. Models should be able to be configured with spears, sword and shield, and possibly with dual swords. Need some kind of option for Standard Bearer, Musician and Champion. and Ancient Atlanteans link SIZE/SCALE: 28 mm SET DESCRIPTION: Fantasy human soldiers with a heavy Ancient / Bronze Age high civilization feel. I propose a visual style that combines ancient Greek and Inca influences. Figures would have shields, spears, helmets and either breastplates or scalemail cuirasses over simple tunics. Possibly also greaves and vambraces. At least 5 multipart figures per sprue, with optional pieces for assembling a command group. In the forums, somebody suggested the latter sprue include a female warrior, which I think would be a good idea.
I have also put in a suggestion for "Atlantean Slaves and Porters", male and female, who would have an Aztec/Mayan/Incan flavour. It would include left and right arms for Palanquin bearers – quick, somebody alert the OFM! ;-) This suggestion hasn't been posted yet

(Howard from WF here) Ah, my good friend Altfritz, The Other Howard :) I am, as you know, a big fan of the Tekumel figures. I painted 60 of them a couple of weeks ago. They went home to Kingston with you. If WF make some fantasy figures that match the Tekumel style (in spirit, if not in exact detail) that'd be fine with me. Remember, of course, that we need 100 individuals to sign up, not just 1000 total sprues. That's because we need to know that there's a significant audience for what we make rather than, say a mad millionaire who orders 1000 of something. I've had experiences with mad millionaires :( |

Damn! Do multiple personalities count? |

I would like to see the proposed figures before jumping in. That is why I find the WFs proposition unacceptable. Al |

I think you get to see the proposed figures (as renders, I presume) before you commit your $1. USD |

I wouldn't hold your breath. They don't seem to have made anything yet but the zombies. Those poor guys waiting for the completed 6mm androids have been waiting forever. |

Hi CPBelt – 6mm androids are in process. But just so you know – there have been a few others that have come out of the League: Celt Cavalry Celt Chariots Ancient Germans Ancient German Cavalry Numidians (in the League they were Generic Ancient Light Infantry – but we had to call them SOMETHING!) And the recent Vikings were in there as well! So we remain committed to pumping out L&U suggestions – the next one after the 6mm is going to be the SF Greatcoat infantry. Oops – forgot the Zulus too! |

Hello Tony, I think you're misleading people again. If any one looks back through the news on your website they can see that you anounced the celt calvary and zulus months before Liberty and union even existed. You also anounced you would start working on hundred year war archers and men at arms around the same time too. Android lovers don't hold your breath, the first renders went up in Feb around the same time the WW2 renders were shown
what hapened to them? |

Hi varglives (don't know your real name as you're anonymous) – you seem to be on a one man crusade to pop up and spew negative vibes whenever Wargames Factory is involved. Why all the hate? Why all the attempts to put our little company in a negative light? You joined TMP not all that long ago – and you seem to spend a lot of time clanging your warhammer over what we're up to. ;-) But to respond to your accusation that I'm a liar: All of our sets have been in the L&U from the time we started it about a year ago
and we've let wargamers tell us what to push forward. Hence Celt Cav, Chariots, Zulus, etc coming faster than some of the others. Remember that when the L&U was launched, we only had two sets out – the Romans and the Zulu War British. Our next two sets (Celts and Zombies (which were an L&U original) came out in February 2009) with the other 8 sets we've done coming after them in 2009. At Wargames Factory we like to listen to our customers. No, actually, let me put that a bit more strongly – we demand to hear what our customers want and provide the products that they want. It's a mandate for us. Given that we've released an average of one hard plastic set per month over the last 12 months – I think we're doing pretty good. Would I like to have 4/month – hell yes! Is that the goal for 2010 – Yes! And more if all goes well! Androids are coming, lots of other things we've been working on are coming, depending on what people tell us they want in the Liberty and Union League – those will be coming too. Right now we have the Vikings just out – Saxons are almost wrapped up and will be out next. Altogether we have four sets of Vikings/Saxons to start off the new Dark Ages range of Hammer of the Gods. Hopefully you'll be man enough to apologize when all that plasticy goodness releases over the next few months. Or you can always buy me a pint the next time I'm visiting Nottingham. Hi Guys, I've put my order in for 4 sprues of each then thought "hell, I want an army" so will go and update if I can or raise another order to 30 sprues each. I love Tekumel and having seen Apocalyto I have wanted a Fantasy Mayan/Aztec style range but not GW Lizards
and can't afford Foundry Metal. Thw WF plastics initiative is spot on, regarding costs it'll be the only way I can afford an army of the size that I want. I can wait for it to come out as I am currently busy with Mantic Elves as Melniboneans
Good Luck Madan |

Hi Tony, aside from any other points you raise here please don't assume I'm one of the 5 or 6 rival companies based in Nottingham or an employee, can you check my IP somehow? I work and live in London, I have never lived in Nottingham nor worked for any wargames/miniature company. Ever. There are lots of things in this hobby I dislike, yours is not the only company I have a problem with. |

Ah, more from Varglives and his 'problems'. I'm not usually one to care a great deal about the quirks of people who infest internet forums. I try to behave civilly myself, and shake my head at those who don't play well with others. I might think that Varglives and his ongoing tirade against Wargames Factory – a tiny company who operate on a small budget and a lot of enthusiasm – is just an example of this. Sure, he asks questions and ignores the answers. He seems to spend a lot of time going through our Liberty and Union lists for things we have not yet made. He accuses Tony of 'lying' constantly, as if Tony had made personal undertakings to him individually. And he does this whole aggrieved victim act, as if he's being picked on somehow. I thought perhaps he just wanted his 6mm androids. Fair enough, we haven't got to them yet. This is, after all, a company so small that the CEO is also the guy who takes parcels to the post office. But then I visited another miniatures forum. You know the one, the British website where language is enthusiastically profane and opinions are valued according to their, erm, strength rather than subtlety. Not that there's anything wrong with that, per se. I'm not knocking the site. I wouldn't even mention it -- but on that site Varglives, our mild-mannered Londoner who has no associations with any miniatures company, expresses himself rather differently. I quote, although I have edited those parts unsuited to the gentle nerves of TMP readers: "Well, the figures are (Anglo saxon term for excrement) and the guy is a dumb (female genital orifice). All this new plastic (act of self-gratification) (slang for urination) me off, I can see it now WF minis and Mantic elves in Wal-Mart
.." link Thanks for that, Varglives. May all your Christmases be white. I wouldn't quote from that forum normally, in deference to TMP Editor, but I do think that obviously deceitful actions need to be made public. Here's a hint, Varglives. If you are going to pretend to be polite here on TMP but express your actual (moronically vulgar) views elsehwere on the internet, you might want to, er, not use the same screen name. |

Daer Howard and Tony, Do not worry about Varglives. Twelve months ago, there were 100 doubters for every WF supporter. Now it has turned around. WF has justifiably built up a base of loyal and satisfied customers. Varglives may not be the only WF critic left but he is one of the last few. He is certainly the most profane if you read his postings on the F..other forum. Keep up the good work and he will be alone soon. Mick |

Well, for my part, I have nothing but praise for WF. Great job guys! |
