I am looking for some of the Cadwallon militia figures or something similiar. I would like to find some unarmoured or lightly armoured figures with some different character (i.e. not just rank and file miniatures) and a range of weapons. Croe's Cutthroats are also another line I am considering
does anyone have any other suggestions? Has anyone seen Cadwallon militia for sale anywhere lately? Thanks! |

I bought my set on eBay, though eBay seems a little bereft of Rackham stuff lately. Keep an eye out, the prices for Cadwallon don't seem to be overly inflated. Also check out some of the mercenary and dramatis personae figures in Games Workshops' Mordheim range, as well as (on eBay) some classic (early 90s) Games Workshop Warhammer Empire figures, especially some of the halberdiers and heroes, many of whom come unarmored. Just curious; what will you be using them for? I've been collecting a similar lot of figures to play some Chain Reaction: Swordplay skirmish (Two Hour Wargames). |

I have been working on a set of home-brew rules that I would like to use them for. But I also use them for Battlelust, and Song of Blades and Heros. How do you like Swordplay? Alkemy has some excellent figures of this type, not their characters but the men-at-arms are pretty good. Ebob has some pretty good armoured men-at-arms too, not quite as gritty though Seems like there is some room for some miniatures with more character (fat, skinny, short, tall etc) for small skirmish games. The Cadwallon figures have quite a bit of this sort of character. It would be great to see a set of 10 or so miniatures with similiar amrour/clothing but distinctly different body shapes, size, and faces. Pretty easy to find characters or leaders, or sets of generic infantry. |

I like Swordplay a lot, though it takes a little getting used to its unique melee mechanic. Certainly different, but it plays well. Check it out, it's a free PDF: link |
