link I love polling and I haven't done one in a long time. So since it's a rainy New England Fall day, I thought I'd put up a new one. Hard plastics have taken the wargames world by storm over the last year and Wargames Factory has started four ranges of our own so far: Might of Rome – All Things Rome and Her Enemies from 100 BC to about 200 AD – with 8 hard plastic sets to date! Wars of Empire – Colonials starting with British and Zulus Dark Futures – with Zombies being the first entry. Hammer of the Gods – just launched with the Viking sampler pack, but with more Vikings and Saxons out soon. We have several other things in the works – including many that have come out of the Liberty and Union League – our "if you vote for it, we'll make it" program – but I'm always interested to see where people's interests are. We all know we're (wargamers) a sometimes fickle bunch drawn by the latest shiny set of rules, inspired by a book (or comic book for that matter), or salivating after watching a great movie and ready to start a new period. What periods do you (currently!) want in hard plastic? Sorry, you can only pick one! Have fun! link All the best, Tony

I assume that you are talking about 28mm figures; my own personal wish would be for plastic 18mm Napoleonics. |
| Lord Ashram | 14 Nov 2009 12:28 p.m. PST |
Man I would LOVE some AWI
I feel like just two sets (militia, regulars) would go a long way, and the converting possibilities would be ENDLESS. Plus, it is an era that does not have plastics! |
| FusilierDan | 14 Nov 2009 12:37 p.m. PST |
OK Bob I could use more AWI but voted for other and listed 40mm War of the Roses Dan |
| abdul666lw | 14 Nov 2009 12:57 p.m. PST |
'Generic' (in the same way a sthe 'Willie' of old) WAS in 28mm, with 'swappable' heads and sprues of 'alternative' heads with different headgear. |

40mm Plastics!!!! Spesifiacly AWI |
| Forager | 14 Nov 2009 1:31 p.m. PST |
28mm medievals for me, please! |
| CPBelt | 14 Nov 2009 1:42 p.m. PST |
My wish they would NOT be multi-part figures. I just cannot handle that any more. :-( |
Parzival | 14 Nov 2009 1:46 p.m. PST |
Well, this seems to be strictly historical, so my spaceships are out
So, I have to admit I'm most intrigued by AWI as well. That or ancient Greeks. |
| jeffrsonk | 14 Nov 2009 1:58 p.m. PST |
That was a very hard decision. I had to choose my main period, the Dark Ages. Carolingian Franks would be awesome. |
| Prinz Geoffrey | 14 Nov 2009 2:02 p.m. PST |
I would like to see some Mahidist and Egyptians to fight the Colonial British, oh yeah and some Sudan British. |
| Jojojimmyjohn | 14 Nov 2009 2:14 p.m. PST |
big hairy men with sharp steel and a bad attitude – more dark ages. |
| mweaver | 14 Nov 2009 2:23 p.m. PST |
World War 2. Medieval would be OK, but there are already options out there (or soon to be). |
| 95thRegt | 14 Nov 2009 2:27 p.m. PST |
OK Bob I could use more AWI but voted for other and listed 40mm War of the Roses >> Dan, Dan, Dan! Finish all the AWI and ACW you started!! LOL! Bob |
| Nick Bowler | 14 Nov 2009 3:01 p.m. PST |
I would love 1/100 scale (15mm to 18mm) anything. (Napoleonics or ACW are the obvious targets though) Just as an aside, is it possible to make plastics in this scale? Multipart would be hard to assemble, so the figs would be restricted in what poses they can have! |
| Coyotepunc and Hatshepsuut | 14 Nov 2009 3:17 p.m. PST |
New Kingdom Egyptians or naked Amazons, take your pick ;) |
| donlowry | 14 Nov 2009 3:21 p.m. PST |
Depends on the scale. Some nice, cheap, paintable WW2 20mm figures would be welcome. |
| Mainly28s | 14 Nov 2009 3:24 p.m. PST |
Tony, get the WW2 going. The German Rifle set was over the required 1000 a long time ago. Surely by now the rifle set and the MG set together have reached an average of 1000 each? |

Like Duc de Limbourg, I voted FPW. Regardless, I agree with CPBelt on multi-part figures. |
| dormant account | 14 Nov 2009 4:34 p.m. PST |
well go for something not already in hard plastic AWI does sound like a good choice? don't forget those 6mm androids ;) |
| Saxondog | 14 Nov 2009 4:49 p.m. PST |
I voted dark ages since that is my preferred period. I would also love gladiators, generic sci-fi (including some Rollerball types. Useless for most of you but it is a WISH list) and as a sub-set of medievals, a set for use in Robin Hood type games. Kung Fu warriors maybe. Monks, townsfolk, and such. |
| TodCreasey | 14 Nov 2009 5:12 p.m. PST |
Napoleonic Line Infantry. If I had to choose one it would be Austrians. Victrix and Perry seems to have the British under control so anyone else would be good (including Americans!) |
| The War Event | 14 Nov 2009 5:33 p.m. PST |
15mm and 6mm ancients and medievals would be very nice. |

I'd love to see some 18th century ANYTHING, and I voted that way. I'd take plastic tricorn-wearing people in any scale but 6mm. Plastics would make it so much more affordable for me to dive in. Considering how much fun folks had here at the shop with the Numidians and such, I can't imagine how much delight we'd take in running with the 18th century. |

I don't know if we'll ever see 15mm hard plastic figures. 15mm figures are already incredibly inexpensive. There's no benefit for multi-pose at that size. I don't know what the benefit of 15mm plastics would be? |
| archstanton73 | 14 Nov 2009 11:40 p.m. PST |
AWI definately
c'mon Perrys you know you want to
. I'm sure they will be bringing out more French Nappy plastics in the near future
And WotR for Xmas |
| Nick Bowler | 15 Nov 2009 12:46 a.m. PST |
I find it hard to reconcile no 15mm plastics with 6mm SF plastics in production / soon. But only time will tell. Is it ever likely that we will get to the stage of getting prepainted plastics -- you can already get prepainted plastic aircraft kits. Because I am not going to go into horse and musket when armies are so big, even if plastics are inexpensive, because I dont have time for all of the painting! |
| britishlinescarlet2 | 15 Nov 2009 2:49 a.m. PST |
28mm colonial
just started the Sudan and plastic would be ideal for hordes of Fuzzy Wuzzys! Pete |
| Acriter | 15 Nov 2009 4:32 a.m. PST |
Another vote for AWI. I agree with Lord Ashram that a set of regulars and a set of militia would have tremendous potential. |
| STEVEY B | 15 Nov 2009 5:39 a.m. PST |
28mm lydian cavalry and lydian hoplites also assyrians |
Uesugi Kenshin | 15 Nov 2009 6:09 a.m. PST |
Near-Future Russians and Weapons! |
| Andy ONeill | 15 Nov 2009 8:28 a.m. PST |
I reckon anyone making ratman slaves and maybe poison globe chuckers would sell quite a few. SYW anything other than Prussians would be my vote. |
| 95thRegt | 15 Nov 2009 8:43 a.m. PST |
Again, AWI!!! :-) Bob Especially dragoons and Indians! I need to keep Howard employed! :-) |
| The War Event | 15 Nov 2009 8:53 a.m. PST |
Tony, IMHO, 15mm and 6mm metals are grossly overpriced. What I used to pay 18 cents for is now some 50 cents a figure. I feel another very good reason to do them is that many gamers play 15mm or 6mm, and have no interest whatsoever in 25-28mm figures for their own collection. With plastics you can have much greater detail than metals and there is greater ease of transportation, both in shipping and in traveling with them. Do you wish to increase your market share? 15mm and 6mm will do just that. |
| KniazSuvorov | 15 Nov 2009 10:33 a.m. PST |
More love for the dark ages. Preferably in 10mm or 6mm
I haven't got the time or space for larger stuff. |
| Rob UK | 15 Nov 2009 1:17 p.m. PST |
I would like to see some Napoleonic Mamelukes of the guard
..but I actually voted FPW as I would also like to see some nice Prussian hussars and cuirassiers hussarbob1746.webs.com |
| DJCoaltrain | 15 Nov 2009 1:25 p.m. PST |
I really, really, like my metal figures. However, if they are to be replaced by plastic, please do the following in 28mm – FIW, and SYW. Next, FFL and their desert foes. Complete lines only, there are too many incomplete lines already. |
| Tommiatkins | 15 Nov 2009 1:32 p.m. PST |
Probably British Light horse for Nappys. I spent 56 quid for two metal squadrons. World War Two as well.Something along the lines of 40 odd figures for 15 quid. That would be a new release for all us suppressed airfix 1/32 scale gamers! |
| Wildman | 15 Nov 2009 1:41 p.m. PST |
I voted for WWII.But if this is a wish list I like to see the dinosaurs that were on the Liberty and Union list.Yes, I know, probably not economically viable. |
| Aloysius the Gaul | 15 Nov 2009 2:42 p.m. PST |
Why can't I pick to have a smaller scale that actually fits on the bases??!! :p |
| Chris Palmer | 15 Nov 2009 4:49 p.m. PST |
I voted AWI. I would like to get into that period and plastics would be a great incentive. |
| capncarp | 15 Nov 2009 5:49 p.m. PST |
Gladiators gets another vote: 2 sets, basic fighter forms (Retiarius, Secutore, Myrmillone, Thracian, Samnite, Velite, Bestiarius and a lion/tiger/bear) and a more exotic set with laquiarii (lasso), andabati (two-swords), Hoplomachi (heavily-armored), dwarves, females, and any of the other unusual forms made to pique the interest of jaded audiences. It would also be nice to have some of the in-arena officials, like the fellow dressed as the god Hermes, lanistae, and perhaps a few onlookers. The extra arms could be molded to include the shoulder armor or as bare arms for lighter-weight fighters. Casting them in plastic medium opens some interesting doors for creating your own personal gladiator, and the wide range of possible helmet styles and weapon choices would be helpful to accomplish that |
