Usually when theres a small kink in the rules, such as the statistical question above,it takes a back seat to whether the rules are fun to play overall,at least for me. When those odd situations pop up,I usually just chalk them up to the fog of war.You realize odd things actually happened in history, and that as a battle would progress, there was always a huge difference between an armies tactical manual and what actually happened.

I've posted Part 1 of a battle report using Black Powder on my blog. In include a lot of comments on the rules mechanics, for those who are interested.

I'm fairly certain Rick, Jervis et al know about the 11/12 thing, its justwho ever typed that bity had a bit of a brain freeze because they were typing fluff, and not thinking about it because it's fluff.

Aside from the command rule, and the shaken rule, it's basically WM. I like WM, but had given up on finding or writing a decent musketry conversion. The Shaken/break test is the clever bit. Like all good inventions no ever thinks of it until it happens, when we all go "Well that's obvious, why didn't I think of it". I can almost imagine the group of them- Jervis, Rick, the Perrys etc playing a game with WMA when one of them goes "Hang on, how about we get rid of base removal, and leave the hits on…?"
