Having worked up a fast way to make dirt roads, I noticed that working the brushable caulking in a different way with the 3" brush gave it a passable look for water. The piece I have pictured took about 15 min total work time, scattered thru some drying time to make and give a wash to. More work is getting done on it but thouhgt Id throw this out:

Very nice. A quick question. The roads look like you brushed the caulk on. Did you do the same for the river or did you kind of dab it on the tape to create the "water effect".

You could have possibly solved 10+ years of roadwork experiments within our gaming group.

Thanks
Scott

The caulk is in deed brushed on in thin multipule, usually 3, coats trying to be a smooth as possible, but it still leaves grooves aplenty. The rivers surface, first 2 coats was as smooth as I could, thrid coat was dabbed in various directions till I found which way looked best. After it dries and before you apply the paint wash, take a Really sharp blade and shave off the spiky points for a better finished look.

Awesome, thanks for the tips. I will have to give this a try. I am certainly going to keep an eye out to see how they look on your table.

Thanks again for posting.
