Want a mechanical golem/giant for my Fantasy Rules! Dwarf Armies. I use Der Kriegspieler (think 21-23 mm tall) and Ral Partha figures predominantly so something about twice that size would be a good target size but something 30 mm size would work too. Paint and some cutting/pinning would be easy to make a "monster" into a "Mechanical Man" or Mechanical Golem." I think.

Horrorclix or Heroclix figures would be ideal for conversion in my mind but I am unfamiliar with Horrorclix other then they exist.

Any suggestions?

Gracias,

Glenn

Check out the Horrorclix Athena figure for a large female mechanical figure. Also check out mage Knight for several large mechanical men. try searching ebay for "Mage Knight Golem" to find them. I think one was a Sream Golem and one was a Blade Golem.
You might also look at old toys. There was a 4" Iron Giant figure that sometimes shows up on ebay that might work for you.

Take a look at Iron Wind Metals.

They actually have a Dwarf mechanical golem. Look at the Iron Wind Fantasy range….Monsters and Encounters….01-246, Dwarven Iron Golem.

Also look at Mage Knight….WZK-549, Storm Golem.

Privateer Press have alot of different styles of steam-robot things. I think some of them are around twice the size of a human mini. Only problem is, they are kind of pricey.

Hmmm sold off my Der Kriegspieler figs long ago Glenn, just a flashback to my Goblin and Orc armys :)

A hugh Elemental would fit in well also if not a robot, say a Rock Elemental.

Dream Pod 9 has a really cool dwarf mecha. It says its 6mm scale, but I have one and there is nothing to indicate what scale it is, you could use it just as well with 25mm figs. Its probably 2 to 3 times as tall as a 25mm figure.

I'll sell you mine (new, unassembled) for $10, plus a $2 USD shipping, if you are interested.

I would second the idea of looking to Mage Knight figures. I have a Blade Golem and a Bow Golem, and they are fearsome "Mechanical Giants". IIRC, they are in the 40-50mm size range. The Bow Golem in particular has a very cool clockwork look to him and a nice paintjob to boot. Best part is, niether figure cost me more than one dollar.

A good bet would be to go to Troll and Toad online store, go to the mage knight section and search for "Golem". There are other good figures if you're willing to look through hundreds of figures but the "Golem" search is a good start.

If you like the Iron wind Dwarf Golem, i STRONGLY suggest ebay'ing Mage Knights. The "incendiary Golem" is the EXACT same sculpt, but i picked up 6 for $5. USD
auction

can't beat that pricing

Edit for BAD spelling.

Scotia Grendel has a dwarven war machine for their Grendel line – should be just what you are looking for.

Try the Magnificent Egos Vambrace figure.

I have one I am willing to part with, but it is missing the mace and hammer. e-mail me if interested. It's a few inches tall and made of resin.

It might be worth a browse at GW's Necron range as well, you might find a good base figure there that you could spruce up for your needs.

Or just have a Dwarf driving a bulldozer instead…

the good thing about using Mage Knight stuff wold be that you can buy it for pennies…..I agree with FreddBloggs about the necrons bitz. You can find the bitz on EBay as well.

I saved all the pictures off WizKids sight before they went down. I looked at Horrorclix and didn't see any that I think would work for you in a Fantasy setting. Everything like that is SciFi. MageKnight is a great suggestion. Lots of cool Steam things and golems that could work.

Here are some Reaper miniatures that could work too.

Try the Iron Kingdoms line from Privateer Press, they've got a 'Tomb Maiden' which may fit your requirements: link , standing on a 40mm or 50mm base.
