Dear all Hope you find this review of The Bunker of interest Why visit The Bunker, well perhaps a background introduction of my involvement in the hobby may help. I've been wargaming man & boy for more years than I care to remember, I enjoy the hobby & even run a small business that deals in 20mm AFV's & figures. I have been visiting The Bunker since 1998 and I tend to go there at least twice a year, which I would say shows that I enjoy going. What is The Bunker? Well it is a wargaming weekend with a difference & the brain child of Shaun McLaughlin. Have you ever watched epic fims such as '633 Squadron','The Great Escape','Spartacus' and 'The Eagle has landed' or block busters like 'Indiana Jones' and thought that would make a great game, well Shaun has done just that. He brings the particular film to life with purpose built terrain, figures & models, together with easy to follow rules which play well but also give the right feel to the game. Most importantly the games are fun with a capital F. On top of that you are treated to superb meals & good company, which all boils down to a great weekend wargaming. You should go as you don't know what you are missing. Craig of Realistic Wargames. |

I've 'known' Shaun for years through shows and conventions – a great guy and from what I hear the Bunker is well worth a weekend visit. Dave |

The majority of The Bunker rules are in house, although we do use commercial sets like BaB, WAB, Rapid Fire, sets by Chris Peers & Good old Don Featherstone stuff. The rules are designed for fast play with a card based system attached. This ensures that no 2 games will ever be the same (a boon for the Umpire) Shaun |

I've played one or two games in The Bunker in my time and had some fantastic wargames there, my own personal favourite being The Eagle Has Landed where I finally managed to kill Churchill's double with the pistol butt of Michael Caine's Luger after an event card frenzy. The Bunker is well worth a visit. |

OK My 2 penceworth. I havent been to the Bunker, but I well remember (and miss!) Shaun's entertaining and innovative games at York Wargames Society years ago. Good Luck Shaun – hope to see you at one of the shows again soon. Keith. |

I keep meaning to go, the problem invariably being not having a group to take up, as people find it so hard to get away these days. Plus with train fare etc I have to budget at least 100 quid before actually getting there. That said, I will make it at some stage and the range of games on offer looks pretty good fun. |
