Gents Have been inspired by Richard Holmes nook on Marlborough to consider a new project! Not yet decided between 15 or 28 mm but given the good reviews porbably be looking to get a copy of under the lily banner rules. Can I ask what size of force in number of battlions and squadrons gives a reasonable game as will influence the decision on scale of figures to be used. I should add have an 8 by 4 foot table. cheers Phil |

Phil I currently play Lily Banners, a nice force size to get started i would suggest 3 Brigades of foot or 12 – 15 battalions and a similar number of squadrons of horse. (I game in 15mm and the rules work just fine for the scale) |

Ha! A kindred spirit! For whatever reason I always get itchy to start a new project or period as the Winter comes on, and this year it's WSS / Marlburian in 28mm. I have a copy of Lily Banners, but it seems more geared toward the earlier wars of Louis XIV, and not so much for WSS, which is my main interest. |

We have played Lily Banners a couple of times (with our own house mods) and feel that 8-10 foot battalions, plus 6 squadrons of cavalry and a couple of guns a side give a good evening game. I'll tempt you into 15mm by pointing out that we do army packs suitable for BLB here: link thanks Mike |
