I'm interesting in reading more on the latter part of the the 17th C. Specifically the Scanian War, and the Dutch Wars. I'd welcome a recommended reading list since the only books on this period are Giant of the grand siècle: the French Army, 1610-1715 by John Albert Lynn. Brent Nosworthy's "Anatomy of Victory." (better on the next century). Having checked Dennis' On Military Matters site I'm thinking of going for the Frost, Robert I NORTHERN WARS:War, State & Society 1558-1721. Any help gratefully accepted. |

Anything by John Childs will repay your effort. |

Northern Wars is a good read. Not much else I can help you with though. Although, have you read the WRG book on that period? From their Armies & Enemies range?? I have it and it contains quite a lot of useful information. If I remember, I will check out the bibliography tonight. Phil |
