Hi all, In a moment of absent minded googling, I tried to find suitable figures for the church knights (Sparhawk et al) from the Elenium series. I failed. Is there anyone out there who has done this already? Or who has some suitable suggestions? I'm looking for 28mm. Thanks, Rab geeklydigest.blogspot.com |

Late Medievel, full plate armoured knights for Sparhawk, Kalten, Bevier and Tynian. Look for Scots or Irish and you might even get lucky and find one weilding a Lochaber. For Ulath something late Viking or Crusades as he is in chainmail. Berit would be good as a crusades figure as well, again he wore chain I believe (except when posing) and for Kurik a good man at arms figure in a Jack or Brigandine would suit. Possibly worth keeping an eye on the Perry Wars of the Roses Plastics, as they would allow the customisation easier than metal figures. |

I seem to remember the other knights thinking the Pandions (Sparhawk's mob) being heavily armoured even by their standards, so you might want to bear that in mind. |

Good thinking on the War of the Roses; I'd not thought beyond the HYW. |

Noooo it was Tynian who was in the impossibly huge Deiran Armour. |

Very true, the Pandions were just the baddest of the brunch. They were very much the "ends justify the means" types. |

Has anyone wargamed Eddings' other series, the Belgariad? I've always wanted to do the big battle in one of the books (I can't remember which one it was off the top of my head). |

Enchanters endgame, battle of Thull Mardu, the problem with Eddings battles is his woeful understanding of how troops worked, he has Ancient/Medieval troops digging trenches and his Proto-Romans skilled at Trench clearing
I won't get into into what else he does with them, but I cringe at his battles, and remember it is fiction and an ok storyline. |

Some of GW's Imperial Knights might work, especially if you can get hold of some of the older metal models; the Reiksguard, Knights of the White Wolf, Knights Panther and Knights of the Golden Sun all had a similar look but were all recognisably members of different orders. Some weapon swaps might be in order though; I don't remember Ulath using a 2-handed warhammer. |

You mean the battle were the Ce'Nedra army (though under the command of Rhodar)after crushing the Thulls at Thall Mardu are caught between the approaching armies of Taur Urgas and Kal Zakath. CeNedra army was about around a million plus and both of the other armies were between 4-5 million each. Yup this would be very interesting battle since Kal Zakath wants Taur Urgas head and only fought Ce'Nedra army because it was in the way. Taur Urgas want to crush both of Ce'Nedra and Kal Zakath armies. Ce'Nedra & Rhodar just wanted to get their army out of the way. |

Hmmm on the GW line, also some of the Brettonians might also work. |
