Nice pics plus a chance to play with the Ivans! I'm envious.

WarWizard10 Nov 2009 5:43 a.m. PST

Excellent. Do you know what brand those vehicles were?

Doctor Merkury10 Nov 2009 5:44 a.m. PST

Thanks,

I believe all the vehicles are Die Waffenhammer or JFTM's.

As in Keith of Iron Ivan? <sigh> I'm going to get pasted for saying this, but…

Wow.

What a beaufiful table, what beautifully done vehicles. Except for the second last two pictures of the figures up close, I could forget those figures are in my "favourite" scale. grin

Well done, Keith and whoever was involved with the table! I would not have minded being another bum along with dr merkury.

Scale?

I'm going to get pasted for saying this, but…

lol naaaaah.

Thank you for the compliment, because I know if my stuff makes you forget these are 28mm, then that is a compliment indeed!

The table is done by laying down two of the new Games Workshop grass table mats. I use ribbed Berber carpet sections for plowed fields (spray paint black, then drybrush), and welcome mats and teddy bear fur for the wheat/tall grass fields. The stone walls are all Armourcast resin terrain (as well as the buildings). Some of the fences are scratch built.

The hedgerows are done using the technique I posted here:

The trees are all Woodland Scenics.

And the minis are all either Artizan Designs (both U.S. and Panzer Lehr) while the vehicles are JTFM-as noted by Jeff).

I've tried to design my tables to be as portable and modular as possible. Though there aren't any on this table, the GW grass mats do really really well when you put hills under them. They conform without wrinkling to all but the steepest angles or hills. I can roll 'em up and take 'em anywhere.

Thanks again Tim!

I always enjoy our good natured ribbing on TMP by the way. We are scale warriors who can still have fun about it :)

Pizzagrenadier10 Nov 2009 3:09 p.m. PST

Don: everything is 28mm on the table.

Heya Keith, the SdKfz with the 2cm… was that vehicle an Army Group North one?

Oh right! The sdkfz 10 with the 2cm is AGNM. The sdkfz 250 is Bolt Action now that I think about it…
