I dug out my Talisman figures that I painted back in 1983-86 for use with the 2nd Edition (black box) of Talisman and took pictures:

I painted them to match the illustrations on the character cards so they're in a different style than I usually did at the time – as well as using a different color scheme in many places than I'd have chosen otherwise.

In a couple of cases, I added details to the miniature to get it closer to the illustrations. The spike on the Highlander's shield is one such piece – and it's fallen off some time over the decades. The paint jobs have largely survived. Of course, the camera makes the dents and dings show up but they're not as readily visible in person.

Yes, I'll reshoot the picture of the Amazon and the other out-of-focus pictures at some point.

Neat! It is fun to see them all together like that.

I only ever bought the leprechaun. I passed over the others because they were so cartoony (because they were designed to match the character pictures). Somewhere along the line we inherited the minstrel figure.

Good to see these fellows, it's been a while, thanks. Pretty rare, too; I has around a dozen, sold half on ebay, they commanded a pretty good price. The buyer was really happy to get them. I hope he, too, painted them up well, like I never did!

I always wanted the Timescape minis. That was my favorite expansion, for whatever reason.

I have logged many a session of 2E Talisman!

Ahhh, I am 14 figures in to rebuilding my Talisman figure set I gave away in the 80's.

Slow and expensive, especially if you ditch recasts. Its going to be so satisfying to have them all painted and lined up like this!

Bliss- thanks for posting!

Wow, you don't see figures with this much character anymore…
